My 1st impression of Kayn.
NOTE: Remember before reading/commenting that this whole post is my opinion. You do not have to have the same opinion as me and I will not force you to. Champions are subjective, what I like is probably different than what you like. Also this is just my thoughts from seeing his kit. I have not played him on the PBE yet nor have I watched anybody play him.
I'm really not a liking him. I think Riot tried too hard to make a bad ass character and missed. To me he comes off as gimmicky cross between Aatrox and Zed. His passive sounds cool on paper but I can't see it as being satisfying to use. His Q resembles Tryndamere's Spinning Slash. His E is almost the same thing as talon's with added gimmicks, and his ult looks out of place on a fighter and is almost the same thing as Zed's ult. His W feels familiar too but I can't place my finger on where. It's like the designer tried to take 3-4 currently existing abilities that he/she thought were cool and give them to 1 champ. Only his passive feels new.
Kayn is also the 3rd fighter we've had in the last year. Camille and Kled aren't even a year old yet. Do we really need another right now? Sure fighters are popular, but we're getting too many. It's too much of the same. I don't play many fighters either and the ones I do play are there because I used to be really into them but IIRC i heard he was supposed to be a jungler too. I play jungle for fun yet im not sure why I should make room for him in my champ pool?
is what I currently play. I don't need anything that he has.
Just all in all not impressed and I doubt I'll have a rank 2 on him without some aram magic. If I had to take a guess about why he was created I would go with "so Yasuo mains can have something to play when we launch 10 bans". It's not really a big deal though. Not every champion has to be for me.
