I was hoping Riot would give me my wife back... she's left the game. All over what I'm sure is a misunderstanding or simply overlooking a mistake.

See, her computer sucks, and I'm the only person she played League with. The rest of the time she played Custom games by herself because she didn't want her graphical lag to screw her teammates over. She's conscientious like that(part of why I love her)!

She'd spent money on the game, and was happy just playing her customs and co-op v. ai with me.

Now she's won't play because she can't collect champions with her winnings anymore, because she doesn't get anything back from the game. That element of "collecting" was probably 2/3's of why she played the game. She even "collected" skins for champions, particularly Annie and Teemo.

There have been several threads about this, and the largest and most-replied thread on the 3.11 Patch Notes was people almost unanimously expressing frustration over this.

There were plenty of theories as to why it was done, but I've never found an official explanation from Riot, or a justification for why you'd effectively remove 1-player mode from your game. I realize it's not a huge concern, but in the long-run I think it will negatively affect the community and the income of the company, when the people who would have practiced and learned the game with customs are forced to go compete with trolls and smurfs, in addition to the difficulty of just learning.

It also gets rid of lots of people who, for whatever reason(kids, work, etc) can't pay full attention to the game and so just play customs.

I'd love it if I got an official response from Riot over this!

And if it could change, and some other solution found to xp-farmers or whatever the problem really was that's not quite so drastic... we'd reclaim a whole part of the community that's been driven away, like my wife!

As now stands, anytime I mention the game, she just frowns and asks me "have they fixed it yet?"

I want to tell her yes.... I'd have my wife back playing League with me again!

Please make my dream come true!! ;)

People could speed win and get exp for fast levels, also customs were mean to experiment, not continuously play. I feel you though. Maybe for a gift get your wife the gift of happiness. Aka a usable computer. I like dells the most. Their basic laptop model from 2 years ago is what I run on. If not upgrade your internet. If both of those are fine routers can actually be really restrictive if they are cheap. Just some advice. I'd love for my wife to play league, alas, she will never. I still love her though.

Riot, needs to stop being a dick, and just do it.. I compeletly agree.. i have Bugsplat problems, so i also play alot of customs, i'm a GOLD tier 3 player, and because of recent upadate i now have a lvl 2 leave buster because of these bugsplat errors, i don't want my account banned where i have spent over 500 dollars on, so either reslove your bugsplat errors or bring back customs.

The problem is i think it was done for 2 reasons, firstly to make it much harder to farm easy wins and also to reduce server load, a custom game with only 1 person still takes up the same resources as a game full of people, this means people will only realistically use custom games to test settings or to test out jungle routes and champion mechanics instead of full games that can last up to an hour

There are now over 100 champs. When the game was new, there was less need for a sandbox play area w no consequences. With every champ released the need is greater. A greater need implies resources should be allocated for an incentive to respond to the need.

My wife is also a casual player. After being berated by evil smurf trolls in her first PVP match its going to take some coaxing to get her to do it again.

These two factors make a good business case to extend ip to casual players in custom games.

I thought this thread was going to be about Lucian and his wife...happy to see otherwise!

Yeah I felt kinda the same with that change. My brother has bad lagging issues with poor internet so we just play together on custom games so we can do goofy stuff and just have fun. It sucks though that we don't get any IP for it though. I buy champions with RP cuz...well, I have no patience or time to farm IP through countless matches. But I use the IP to complete my rune pages and it kinda sucks to get nothing for these matches anymore.

Yeah I agree they should have rewards still even for custom games as people like myself, played custom to get used to the game. Especially when you are new and are investing your time in the game. Personally, I quit this game 2 years ago because of how much time it took to learn. I only came back since ... I had some spare time one day, and Crystal Scar was out. Then I did not need to worry about farming and such, and learned the core of the game much faster.

In my opinion, the best solution to compensate the community without riot losing out to people leveling up smurf accounts, in addition to creating unnecessary server overload, would be to provide a first win of the day bonus to Custom Games, there after, maybe a second win at reduced earnings and a 3rd at no earnings, or very minimal if that.

The purpose of this is really to prevent people from creating bots to play for them and selling the accounts. Yes we've all seen there is a bot out there that just follows your champion, does not capture or do anything, and does not talk. Engages in a 2v1 and repeats.

Bottom line, To meet everyone half way, provide a limit such as 2 wins in a day in custom, one for regular earnings, and a second one for only half the usual amount. Benefits of this will, reduce server overload, Reduce botting practices and smurf accounts, keep people from leaving the community, and ensure some people still get a happy ending at the end of the night ;).

My issue here is in league of legends you farm either kills or minons to gain a higher set level and gain higher strandered items, now no genius is going to know how every item works in pattern completely I use to spend about 1 hour games with one champion focusing on differen't items and feels for the champion in my own 'private' space not going into normals going OH It's just NORMALS don't get mad bro, so taking something like this out means I'll be wasting an entire hour .. of farming minons, I mean if anything is wrong about giving your customers the ability to have there own place which I know ALOT of games offer this then why not set the games for normal? SR which is 25ish to an hour, length then release the award because I for one hate going into player VS AI people rush build try to go for 20 - 1 in there lane they just battle over buffs and can be extremely frustrating battling even for a simple LANE, I swear I had 3 people quit it was me and another guy we managed to get through the game but they fought over... a simple lane and blue buff.. I mean forcing me to mix into the commuinty as it's grown back in the day player vs AI wasn't to bad people were about same level, now it's just full of kids buying items like Sword of the Occult and just blasting through the game to farm their IP, so if they can do it with 5 real people why stop them from doing it by there selfs... because what you are worried about micro's ? I'm not sure im just putting some flags up and I dislike this change Please give Spiral Continuum Wife back !

If she plays Coop vs. AI with random people, she wouldn't have to compete with anyone. Depending on her skill level she may still have to deal with getting yelled at, but at least it's only bots, right?

Instead of remove IP completely from games like this, they could just put a daily cap on it to prevent abuse and make it just give less IP than a normal. You're still getting IP, but between the lower rate and daily cap, it would discourage people from abusing it. There may still be people that abuse it, but I honestly don't think there would be THAT many...and the ones who do abuse it would be terribad anyway if they tried to then jump into a normal or ranked.

My wife isn't a huge fan of PVP but for some reason loves playing characters like Annie in customs.

I agree with the OP on this one. I was bothered when they took IP out of the AI games. The simple facts are that its not always convenient to play pvp since there are many variables to it that aren't present with AI and if i choose to play AI it still takes time and effort and I should be rewarded for trying to make myself more familiar with chars and not punished for it. If i take a unfamiliar char to pvp they force me to risk being reported so if i need to do AI to learn a char and contribute to the community then i believe the IP reward is warranted and earned and shouldn't be removed from the community because some people abuse or cheat it. Also you may not have time and may have to leave a game but still might want to play. you can leave an AI game without letting a team down. Lets take an example. I have an hour and a half before i have to leave for work. I press the find match button only to spend 10 mins waiting for matches because some unseen jerk(s) keep pressing the decline button(WHY does this even exist? with wait times of 40 secs to 1 min 15 secs why on earth would someone need to decline regularly enough to require this button. you accepted when you searched for a match IMHO. Remove the decline button please.) so after that wait (cuz it happened 5 times in a row) we get to champ select just to have a player call a lane and pick a totally unviable champ so then we get a guy who quits at the sheer ridiculousness of it or worse the champ was viable but he still quits cuz "it's not meta". so we go back thru process 1 get back to champ select and then theres an argument over who called mid first. was it the guy who logged in before everyone whos chat no one can see or the guy who spammed "mid" 27 times in chat? so then we're on to the eternal load screen (likely eternal because the guy from brazil speaking portugese to his buddy is playing on the NA server.) when we get on the rift the 2 guys arguing both go mid which would normally cripple a lane somewhere but not this time because theres 1-2 guys afk (happens alot, had it happen 3 games in a row the other day 2 guys afk in each) so then were playing 1 man per lane already animosity from the mid debate and the yi up top is telling the guy bot that he's feeding cuz yi got ganked by the jungle even tho the guy bot has 2 deaths and the top yi has 5 and we all know that must be the reason not that he's spamming hate constantly in chat and isn't paying attention to the game so it's totally warranted that he /all chat for everyone to report the hapless guy bot and offer them honors in return if they do. the game is lost everyone in a crappy mood but you have some time left and go thru the aforementioned processes again this time the team is all here and are getting kills but as the time wears on all they are doing is kill chasing the easys or teamfighting mid and theres no progress. you ask them to hurry because you have to work only to hear lolololol while some guy is spam pinging the baron. so you throw your kdr to the wind and push lanes alone you get ganked a few times because you get no team support for your pushes because they are either in the jungle, kill chasing easy kills or team fighting mid. so you piledrive to the enemy nexus with nothing but superminions where your team mates should be just as you are about to land the last few hits on the nexus with 2 enemies taking chunks off your hp with another coming out of spawn you read "Nooo don't end it yet i haven't got my penta" so you end the round with a win and go to the end stat screen. your final score 8/11/5 with 274 minion kills 6 turrets and 2 inhibs while the rest of your team has only a fraction of that cs each and barely 2 turrets between them. So you honor them even if they were d-bags cuz gosh darn it you appreciate the win while they are busy buttslapping each other for the win and downing the losers the yi who was 23/7/10 is telling everyone to report you for feeding because he is still mad about not getting his penta totally ignoring the fact that you basically secured the win. so you rus

She can still play VS AI with a team 1 person can win entire game in vs AI so there is no worry about ruining anything. Or if you played on ARAM really no one cares if u do bad because people only play those for the fun of it. Very little complaining in them
