Opinions on Ribbon Reward System
Regarding the outdated rewarding system of ribbons for good behaviour, I just thought I would share my opinion on the matter. As someone who is constantly getting ribbons (especially teamwork), I find that it is next to impossible to get a ribbon. Out of 10 games, I may get 6-8 ribbons. Which, that is 60-80% of my games getting rewarded with honours. Now, most people have seemingly forgotten about honouring other players. The reason, in my opinion, is because it isn't rewarding. There is no incentive. Ribbons aren't achieved at a static goal line. You have to attain a percentage of your games played to get a ribbon. As someone with 187 teamwork ribbons, I find this rather aggravating. Seeing my friends with 40 or so ribbons getting the banner is frustrating, as someone who tries to demonstrate a tight-knit cooperation with my team. I think that the rewards system should be set in stone, rather than percentage based. Like the "Refer-A-Friend" system, where you have a goal to work towards, I think that the ribbon system should be similar. Like 100 votes earns a basic ribbon, 200 is an upgraded ribbon with 100 IP, etc. etc. The reason this ribbon system is so often overlooked is because there is no perk to getting the ribbon as well as a seemingly unattainable goal line in which to receive the (pointless) ribbon. I hope that when the rewards system gets updated (as mentioned in a previous post by @Riot Lyte), the ribbons get some attention as well and an incentive to have a more healthy and wealthy community ensues. Have a good day, all.
