when will i be ready for war, i mean, ranked

I started playing in August right before school started so it took me a bit to get to 30 and now I'm finally here. I still feel iffy about my skills and I think that waiting for my other friends to reach level 30 will get me ready for ranked play, but I just want to know how other people figured they were ready to play ranked because I might want to try solo queue soon?

in my opinion, stay out of ranked until you think you're ready. you will learn more from unranked normals than you will if you get put in low bronze with a bunch of idiots. do draft normals, learn, get a couple champions up to level 5 mastery, and when you think you can carry games with them, try it out in ranked.
