Why give chat restrictions when you can mute people in league. If you don't like what they are saying, then just mute them. League is a social game so i should be able to give my opinion whether it is considered colorful or not. The game alienating parts of its community will make league fail as a game.
You have a grave misunderstanding. Chat restriction is not a measure taken to prevent toxic player from unleashing the poison. It's meant to be a lenient punishment that serves as a warning so the toxic player would stop. If you're saying chat restriction should be removed, then you'll be facing either a 2 week ban or perma ban instead - and if that's what you're asking for then just stop playing >_>
Personally I just want...nay, NEED a means by which to ignore pings from other players. Because there are a LOT of games where I'll be playing and someone goes into a ping frenzy while frothing at the mouth.
I really wish you could ignore pings. they are more annoying then actual chat for me.
Don't say "mute", say "disallow them to speak"
punishments for typing something something is ridiculous, the game acts like you cant ignore a toxic player with a click. If you don't like someone block them. lol, you greatly misunderstand why league is a fun game for most. trash talk should be allowed,just like playing street basketball or softball with friends. games are meant to be competitive and it truly becomes fun to talk trash in a competitive environment. I highly disagree with how this games deals with so called "toxic player". Instead of allowing other to just mute the guy they feel like they have to step in because the only thing league wants you to say is ohh don't worry you just fed 10 kills to your guy and let him farm 180 creep in lane. You did a fine job. Most people only learn to improve through negative feedback.
