Banning, a Tribunal review

Ok, i am going to just come out and say this. I have never once been banned, nor do i have any intention of changing that in the future. This is not about me personally, its just my view on some of the issues facing the lol community. At present, to the best of my knowledge, when people are banned, they are not able to see what they got banned for in specifics. This is a major flaw that needs correction, as how can a player improve if they do not know what they have been punished for. What i propose that when a player is banned, they be shown not only the reports against them (not necessarily the players), but also have the number of votes for banning and against banning displayed so they can get a feel for how things went down. It is not a lot to ask for, and this would likely improve behavior more than cracking down harder, because again at present people do not know what they are being punished for.

Now additionally to this, there is the flip side of the coin. When you report someone, odds are you will never see that player again, but still you never know if something happened to them or not, so what i propose is that people be allowed to see a list of all their reports, the match history and chat involved so as to recall the exact situation that brought about the reports, and to be notified if one of the players they have reported ends up being banned. At present there is a certain disconnect between reporting and seeing and knowing actual progress has been made. If this system were put into place, it would make players a lot more aware of the effects of their actions, and perhaps make it a little more encouraging to report in the future. I mean seriously, if you dont ever see anyone getting banned, what is the point in taking the time to write up a decent report?

Again, these are just a few ideas. I know it is highly unlikely anyone will act on these ideas, but i thought id through them out there. Additionally, i am not going to say that you should reveal the number of reports necessary to be brought up to tribunal, but here is another idea. Let players look up the reports they have against them, and give them the chance to testify in their own defense. I have seen people get reported for yelling at a troll, or a troll team, and the troll team gangs up on and reports the individual who is actually playing seriously. I would not want to be banned for such a thing, because i feel that is against the spirit of the game. If anything, the trolls that reported the "innocent player" deserve a ban because trolling in general is against the spirit of the game.

So, to conclude... Although i find it highly unlikely any riot staff member will ever read this, or take notice, if by chance one does, please consider these ideas and pass them on. LoL is a community game, its a team game, and trolls and ragers are ruining this game. Increasing players motivation to report trolls and ragers is something that should be encouraged, and in the current system, there is no encouragement, all we have are the figures you give us of how many bans there have been, but what results do we see? There are no more or less trolls and ragers in our games now then at any point in the past, its the same as ever. Throw us a bone. And in the event the tribunal bans someone, let them know why. Let them see why, so they can learn from their mistakes and become better players... Isnt that the point of the tribunal. Also, the tribunal isnt a perfect system, anyone who reaches level 30 can vote, and there are a lot of trolls out there who would vote yes to anything just to see another player suffer. Letting a player defend themselves and give reasons, and having riot oversight to tribunal cases should be a thing. A tribunal is not a proper trial, its a one sided affair that only shows things from the side of the "victim", the accused does not get to defend himself and his actions, and that is not justice.

I thank you for your time, and hope someone sees this. Change is needed, and change will not occur unless there is a strong push for it. One man cannot take a nexus on his own, we are a team, we are a community, and as a team, we must push for the changes we want to see. Push onward to victory against trolls and ragers.
