Client text is italic and unreadable

So when I'm not on my desktop I use this old laptop, 1360x786, low settings for the game, and sad computer specs, you get the idea. Either way the game works with little issue (there is only so much you can do before the lack of performance starts to show) and the client text is incredibly hard to read, even unreadable. It gets especially bad with the chat in and out of the game. The size has some play in it but the text also looks italic, which makes it 100% worst. BTW, when I say italic I mean it looks like small, fancy lettering of what other might consider to be normal. Point is its really hard to read, and I haven't seen any way of fixing it and wondering if there is a fix or perhaps someone from Riot can take this consideration and look for a solution?
