Champion X has been in a good spot ever since release

Now seriously. This is the most dumb argument when talking about balancing issues. It sounds like you'd be completly ok with a champion beeing OP, if it was underpowered previously (but in fact you are not). No champion deserves to be in a bad spot in the first place, unless they have a kit/ability that is extremly unhealthy for the game.
