I'm not sure if this means much towards League of Legends.

But for the last few days I've been on Twitch, DoTA 2 has had more viewers than League. If that's not a sign that this game is losing its player base, I don't know what is.

I have no sympathy for League anymore. Not when all the little problems can't be addressed. Like, why make it so hard to get every champion? Why not make Runes free? Sell us an icon that costs IP for once. You know, small things that would help in just some of the areas we are mad at.

Balance issues my never be fixed. We almost had a perfectly balanced system during the Tank Meta, where even Assassins like Evelynn were coming back into play.

The Lore retcon... well, at least the writers are doing something. Every few months, we get a few paragraphs for some of the champions.

If Riot were a business, wouldn't they have more than one game out? Wouldn't they at least give us more to do than to play on mode of play? We barely get any other modes of play, and most just happen on a weekend. I'd be happier if it were a week, but all I can see so far is that Riot doesn't even know what they're doing anymore.

Dynamic Queue? Taking away Solo, Dominion, and Team Builder? Little to no player feedback?

If people didn't have fun with this game and grow with it the way it did, I'm sure this game would not survive long. In fact, many loyal players have left. I tried playing just a few days ago... or was about two weeks? Why do I feel like OverWatch, VainGlory, and DoTA are more fun than League of Legends?

OverWatch basically gives you everything for just around $50; skins and all. VainGlory also gives away its stuff, though harder to get, almost for free, has a much easier time to balance its only 25 characters, and its fast and easy. Allowing itself to grow slowly and effectively. DoTA apparently listens to the player base, lasting as long as League has but surprisingly is able to not go overboard. It also allows you to play as whomever you want from the start.

I like League's way of earning champions as you play, but it takes way too much time and energy to keep up. We're about to have champion #132. Just trying to earn 450 for each champion 132 times would take about 132 days (at most) to get all the champions. Add in that majority are above 4800, and it quickly skyrockets up to over 800 days worth of playing to reach. The IP system means nothing if Riot is never going to use it for nothing else but champions, and makes it increasingly harder and harder on new players to reach a pro players account.

I feel that League won't be getting any new players. And if things continue the way they are, like me, many will just eventually stop playing League.

As a 6-year veteran hovering at nearly 100k ip with every champion... the new player experience is utter garbage and always has been, despite not actually being necessary whatsoever. And it's getting even worse as matchmaking quality declines. Trying to play with new friends actually makes the new player experience worse - both for my friends and other new players!

Indeed, most of my friends have left to play overwatch and other games; and I don't blame them, the game used to be so much better.

I agree that League is on a nice slope downwards but I think DOTA 2 had a tournament...last time I checked, League still dominates Twitch views but it definitely has decreased a huge amount this season.
