Dawngate has died, and the League still goes on, strong as ever.
Dawngate. Dawngate, Dawngate, Dawngate. Ever since this game became a thing, I've seen a few rather popular posts on the Boards here, about how League is inferior, and how League's story isn't as good. Well, yeah. League's story isn't all that in-depth when you compare it to Dawngate's. However, when you put your all behind Dawngate, you made a fatal mistake. The game was doomed from the beginning, but all of you were too blind to see it. Dawngate was backed up by EA, a game company voted the worst company in America, twice. This is a company that would rather put its own personal benefit in front of the players who support it. You entered this game, knowing that it was backed by this company. Knowing full well about it. Now, I'm not saying that EA is full of evil money grubbing capitalist creatures that use money in place of firewood, but you should have learned by now that companies like that, are probably only focused on their financial gain. Now, I give no fault to the developers of Dawngate, who I believe had the best of intentions in mind. But as I said before, it was doomed from the start. When you attempt to tackle the titans that are the League of Legends and Dota 2, chances are very good that you aren't going to be as popular. If you think that World of Warcraft's wall of heads that used to be bright-eyed game developers who hoped to create a popular MMOPRG is strictly limited to that genre of games, you are a fool. While the League and Dota are kinder than the barbarian that is WoW, they will still kill you, and staple a piece of you to their wall. Or, maybe they'll even hang a chunk of your lost "treasure" out on a stake for the whole world to see. For the whole world to see, that if you are going to if you are going to spend all your resources building a brand new boat, make sure it can actually float on the god damn water.
