Whats your MOBA story?

Just bored so I though I just start a little spam topic^^ So, how did you get to the MOBA genre? Was LoL your first experience? How were your baby steps?

For me, it began with a DotA map in WC3 at a LAN. One guy had the map, noone knew what the hell it was. We were 10 people so we just played it. Noone of us had any idea what to do, so we picked our heroes, didnt bought any items and rushed in our first teamfight. Party by part we discovered the game, one guy found out that you get gold from the jungle monsters, some of us learned not to fvck with Roshan, then we saw that lasthitting gave us gold and we could buy items. Noobs like we were, we all ran around with only the recieps, wondering why they didnt do anything. But we had fun. Somehow after 1 and a half hour we figured out how to win, and someone even discovered how the recieps work^^

The whole game was a mess, but it was hell fun. We played again, this time with Items, of course terrible builds (Attack Damage Frozen maiden FTW xD).

After the LAN I really liked the game and thought I could play it on Battle Net. Well, I soon discovered how freaking elitist the comminuty was, most people kicked me as soon as they saw I had to load the map, I got flamed... it wasnt really fun...

We played on LANs, but until LoL came around, I didnt really played it alot. Then LoL came and I totaly fell for the game.

Over the seasons I lost my love, cause the game became more and more DotA, flaming, elitism, everyone acting like they would play for their life, so I played less.

Then three month ago I got a key for Heroes of the Storm and havent touched LoL since, well did for like 10 games of URF, but other than that I am pretty much done.

Right now I am totaly into HotS like I was into LoL in his golden age.

I just love the genre. It has so much potential :)
