Petitions

What would Riot say to the idea of having a "petition" website - where players could submit ideas, be they game ideas, champion ideas, balance ideas, gameplay ideas, behavior ideas, ban review ideas, etc. that would have to reach a certain threshhold to receive a guaranteed full reply from Riot?

This would allow players who are not satisfied with a Riot response here on the boards to submit it over and over again (and show the large support for further response) until they get a response most are happy with.

This was in part an idea in response to the fact a Red post can get 500 or more net downvotes and still have no follow up from the Riot staff.

I don't know if it's good to let everyone be in charge of balancing the game. Just doesn't seem like a great idea because most people have no idea how this game works.

Supporting a method of petitioning suggests that Riot has to do whatever gets a lot of votes, which if true is a great way to ruin the game within a year.

While Riot doesn't respond to these posts much and it's really disappointing, it's not because they don't read it or value our feedback; When Riot responds to any post, due to the high visibility (and the fact that it's a Rioter) it very easily distracts people from the OP. This is frequently detrimental to the actual discussion as people will just focus on the Rioter and may stop discussing the topic with the group.

They also have to be wary about what they say because people take Riot out of context or literally, and see their word as law; if Meddler says they plan to look into something, players take it as "it will definitely happen very soon", and when that doesn't happen they feel Riot has intentionally lied to them. Rioters also are players just like us and don't know everything about what's going on, so can't commit to definitive answers even if they want to be part of a discussion.

In short, even though they don't respond they still see these posts and value the feedback.
