My parents hate league!!!!

I've been playing league for about 4 years now and for a good three and a half my parents have hated the game. They question why I play it, why I spend money on it, and why I put so much time into it. I have no cinderella story with this game being drafted to an LCS team to play professionally, No. Im just the average silver 4 player like many of you out there with lives outside this game. However, my parents don't seem to understand how this game has gripped my life and the joy it gives me. League has literally kept me off the streets, when i was off at college my mom was worrying about me becoming an alcoholic like my father so she'd constantly ask me if I'd been drinking. I was getting tired of this so I gave her the answer: No, I haven't been drinking because I can't drink and play league. She laughed and was a slightly pleased, however they still don't understand how much I really enjoy this game. The time and money and late nights I've stayed up playing; everything I have invested into this game is all part of the league experience. I've made friends within my own school with people i would have never thought would've accepted me until they found out I play league. I've made friends across the country with this game that i still play with and talk to to this day. I wish there was someway I could introduce them into the game, and the community, to my parents to show them much like people would sit around and watch a football game or a book club or whatever extracurricular activities people like to do league of legends is the same thing for me and my friends. Everyone that really plays knows it's more than just a videogame.
