144hz gaming monitors! What should I buy?

I have a REALLY old AOC F19 1366x768 monitor (2008). I'm thinking of upgrading, and I'm not interested in 1440p 144hz monitors because they're way too expensive for me. Here's the list of monitors I've been thinking of:

  1. LG 24GM77
  2. BenQ XL2430T
  3. BenQ XL2411Z
  4. AOC G2460PQU

Are these good choices? If not, what would you recommend? I'm on a budget, so keep the recommendations at a maximum of $350, please. However, I can stretch it to $400 if you can really, really convince me it's worth the money.

Take your time and read reviews for them. Avoid the one that often has reported dead pixels or backlight bleeding. Prefer one with options like VESA mounting and multiple inputs, high contrast ratio and maximum viewing angle. If what you choose has all the options you want and doesn't arrive broken, you're probably not going to care which one it is.

I've been reading reviews left and right for two months, and I'm still indecisive. All of the ones I'm deciding are TN panels, so the viewing angles aren't too great, but any IPS monitor that's 144hz is going to completely destroy my wallet. I'm leaning towards the LG 24GM77 since that has lots of good reviews from Tom's Hardware and Digital Versus, but the BenQ is also really tempting, seeing how it's a brand that everyone already recognizes, which also has high ratings.

Need to know what games you intend on playing first. The LG is probably one of the fastest monitors on the list, while the Benq has more features for people who used to prefer CRT monitors and who hated having to change to LCD.

Both the LG and the Benq can "backlight strobe" for a more smooth gaming experience (making it look identical to what an old CRT looked like) although with more artifacts than CRT's had (related to the overdrive mechanism that all LCD's have), but the Benq can "strobe" at far more refresh rates than the LG, through custom refresh rates and the "Single Strobe" service menu option, while the LG Is limited to strobing at 100 and 120hz only.
