Playing League with Hugh's Net Internet?
I don't have Hugh's Net, but I have considered trying it because I live in a rural area; however, I'm obviously very concerned because of the DATA caps. Does anyone have Hugh's Net and play league? Thoughts?

I had HughesNet in my home until Comcast finally delivered on their end and put down cables in my neighborhood. Unfortunately I never tried it on playing games, for fear of the data caps. It was all strictly for business since I work from home. I had an extremely slow connection from AT&T that was like 0.5 up / 0.2 down that I used for gaming, but it often drove me to insanity. They refused to lay new cables because they had control of the neighborhood at the time in regards to cable / internet (Yay for HOAs!). That is unless you got an ugly dish on your house. But now Comcast is allowed in and I have awesome speeds... yeah. ANYWAYS.
I do know that the cap is relatively easy to meet if you often do things online. Large file transfers, heavy downloads, constant streaming of data, etc. The speeds were annoying at times too because I would constantly have to re-connect for it to work properly, so on their highest tier (Advertised as 15 up/2 down) I got about 9/1.2 on average.
Something I would like to share though is that their "Monthly Total" is a bit confusing on their site, or it was. They may have changed it. It says "40GB / mo" (again, highest tier) but mind you that's 20GB during normal day hours and 20GB during the bonus hours. I believe they classified the normal day as 8 AM (in your respective timezone) to 2 AM (18 hours) and bonus from 2 AM to 8 AM (6 hours). Again this could have changed.
All in all it was a decent solution to my net problems for working from home, but on a gaming side of things I don't personally find it to be acceptable. I do way to much online for it to serve that purpose, but for all I know you might only play League. From my experience I don't exactly recommend it for playing games, but I never truly tried using it for games - so it could be amazing if you have no other decent options in your area.
Something to consider: Satellite internet tends to have terrible ping. You might end up with 1000+ms ping using satellite, so...be careful with that decision. It's unplayable for gaming, unless HughesNet has a magical solution to that problem.
