How many players are in queue for each game mode when I am online?

If you look at games like Call of Duty, before you queue up it shows you have many people are currently playing each game mode. I have been thinking, while it really isn't very useful, it would still be something cool to know. Like just something that just says "X players are playing this game mode out of Y number of players. Where Y would be the total population. Or something that tells you how many people are logged in at a given time. Even if it were just a ticker across the bottom I am sure many people would enjoy this useless yet informative information.
