Boosting in DynaQ, or even in old DuoQ

#DISCLAIMER: I do not condone boosting and I am very strictly against even abusing the system by playing with a high-ranking Smurf. I'm just explaining how the system works so that you can all see how broken it is.

In response to the thread that asks whether or not it was allowed by the rules, the answers are: technically no, but realistically yes.

#Some background: I've sent in Support tickets regarding the topic because several players have told me they were playing Duo with a diamond smurf. I hated it. And Support told me that smurfing, even as a Diamond for the explicit purpose of winning games for your friends, is definitely allowed by the ToS and Summoner's Code.

#The Rules Under the rules, and per the mechanics of the matchmaking queue you cannot play Ranked with a player who's a certain number of ranks higher than you.

You also can't have someone else play on your account in order to rank up.

However, there's one very simple way to do it-- and that's through duo or dynamic queue with friends or _"friends." _ #Playing with "Friends"

According to the rules, you can't pay someone to play for you. But there's nothing they can do to prevent someone from becoming your "friend" and duoing with you--even if you're paying them for it. Riot doesn't have systems in place to track outside payment. They can only go by your and the friend's gameplay patterns, which would not be any different because no different people are playing the accounts.

It would look, and according to the rules it would indeed be the same as if you were playing with a Diamond smurf who happened to be your best friend for the last 20 years.

#TL;DR No, boosting is still not allowed. But playing with Diamond smurf "friends" is. And the recent changes to experience that halved the amount you need to get to level 30 have made it much easier. It's not honorable and it's not fair, but Riot is specifically encouraging it.

Not going to argue your point, they've been argued before, and after again. Just going to point this out.

Halving the amount of EXP required for level 30, doesn't actually impact much in terms of smurfs being able to ranked sooner. You still need 16 champions. You still need a playable rune page. It's also incredibly hard for a high teir player to stay in silver, or even fall to bronze. They will naturally climb, typically by accident.
