Why Premade 5v5 Dynamic Queue Is The Best Thing To Happen To LoL.

Hello all, King Spork here.

For those who don't know, I am an AVID ranked 5's player (I've played hundreds of them), and I feel there is so many issues with how the ranked 5's system works right now. Dynamic Queue has its advantages and its disadvantages. I will not be discussing the combinations of 2, 3, or 4 players as I feel they have their own huge issues, but I will be discussing why premade 5's is an ingenious idea that solves alot of issues for league of legends.

  1. Ranked 5v5's are not respected enough. Lets be honest here guys, even if you have challenger in ranked 5v5, no one cares. This is because its easy to just be invited to a challenger team without doing any work, and it is generally considered subserviant to soloqueue. Soloqueue is the prized queue for rating one's individual skill because you must play out all games to be whatever ranking you are. With dynamic queue, you are still responsible for your ranking even if playing with four other people, thus allowing for the 5v5 experience while still having merit to the games you play.

  2. Commitment with Ranked 5's vs. dynamic queue. The staple issue of ranked 5's right now is a lack of commitment, where one person can't make it one night or just refuses to play, thus ruining the plans for everyone else. The borders of dynamic queue are much more free and less strenous, meaning you can play with whoever you want for your 5 man team. Jungler not online? Search for one on your friends list or the forums and he can play for the night instead. There will no longer be any trouble with inviting people to your team, maxing teams out, or running out of invites.

  3. The important of premade 5's. Now that we have a solution to the issues of the current ranked 5's system, we can talk about what makes 5's in general so important: teambuilding. Soloqueue is great for learning to adapt and improvise in any situation, but you will not be getting far in this game if you don't learn how to work with others. Especially across voice chat while discussing teamcomps and gameplay plans. This stuff is crucial towards a competitive environment, guys, and with the current 5's system, it is definitely not capitalized on enough.

There is one potential downside that everyone seems to be concerned about, and that is being carried. Honestly, I know alot of you haven't played at the highest level of cooperative gameplay, but in ranked 5's, everyone has to carry their weight. If there is a weak link he WILL hold the team back no matter what, especially when you get to the level where the enemy team recognizes the weak link and captalizes heavily. I believe soloqueue is actually alot MORE vulnerable to carrying/ boosts/ etc, as it is very easy for one very skilled player to expose and abuse the lack of cooperation and teamwork skills that 5 random people create.

These are my beliefs on why premade 5v5 dynamic queue is probably the greatest thing to happen to LoL. I cannot wait to see real 5's strategies being implemented across all of the main soloqueue.
