This game's community is pushing me away.

I understand what a lot of people say, mute the people that are being toxic. For me that's a cop out. The REASON I play this game is to interact with other people. Sorry but playing a game talking to no one is just not fun if I'm playing a multiplayer game.

I've had other friends that have had the same feeling, getting berated for doing one thing wrong, or maybe taking a kill/cs from someone. It is just getting ridiculous. The amount of times I've been told to get cancer, kill myself, how much of a noob/how horrible I am at the game, ect is not just annoying, it's just tiring now. When I first started playing this game it wasn't like this. Part of the reason I even stuck with it was the community. Coming from games like CoD where the player base consists of groups of 12 year olds talking about how well they know my mother, while funny for a bit, gets old.

And that's the direction this game is going. As it's gotten bigger, they're bringing more and more fans over to the game. While great that it's more popular, it's also pushing out that core of a player base that made it so appealing for me, even when I went 0-10, and making those toxic players more prominent.

Honestly I've been playing the game less and less because of it, as have others that I know. I'm not really sure what the answer is, just thought I'd throw my opinion out there, and see if anyone agreed. It really is a fun game, but the community that made this game so entertaining is what's killing it as of now for me.
