Placement Matches are weird.

Placement matches... where do I even start with these?

I won 4, lost 6. Played the initiator in 3 of my wins (mundo, 2 alistar), and carried once (TF). Was placed in Silver 4.

I play with a group of friends that range from B3, to B1, to S5, to G2. It's pretty varied. Anyway, I am the newest person in the group, and obviously, it was quite surprising to everyone when I got placed as high as I did (I've been playing since... about Azir launch, the others have been playing since season 2/season 3.

The thing is, all of my friends have won more placement matches than me. One in particular won 7, and he considered it completely unfair that he got placed in Bronze 4 while I got Silver 4, even though he won 3 more games than me. This has since spiraled into him absolutely refusing to play with me because I was a liiitle bit of a dick and rubbed it in his face a bit, but that's besides the point.

Why did I, with a 4-6 record, get placed a full tier higher than someone with 3 more wins than me?
