I get why runes/pages must be purchased

I don't get the price.

some are cheap, others absurdly expensive, and the rune pages which imo are very important for playing multiple roles are also overpriced.

I've been playing for about a year and a half now, and have only seen one rune page sale.

I have already purchased over half of the champs in game, half the runes in the game, and 6 bonus rune pages, but I was buying a lot of rp and bonus ip time to pay for all of it.

I guess I could have bought less champions for more runes and pages, but it's sooooooooooooo much more fun to play a new champion you are interested in rather than pick up a few more runes or rune page..
