Why do I bother?

'cause it really doesn't matter what I do.

• I do well, I lose. I do poorly, I win.

• I climb to gold promos, I drop right back down to S5.

• I see a new champ that's fun, and then Riot guts them and forgets about them (Poppy lately).

• I play a fun champ, but they're just pathetic compared to any braindead, boring clicker.

... and that's just League.

And, as much as I dislike this game and can hardly stand it, I keep playing, because there's just nothing else to do. No friends, girls treat me like anathema, my family hates me, got laid off from my job and no one will hire me, my college professor switched me to online... I just don't know why I even bother. Nothing is really enjoyable anymore.

So, remind me why I bother? Why do I play ranked when I just lose? Why do I play League when I really don't like it? Why do I keep dating ads up for 5 years even though I've never gotten a response? Why do I hope for a good game to come out when I know one isn't coming? I just don't know.
