LoL Banning system is FLAWED

Ok so let me start by saying.

  1. I understand there's alot of players on this game yes
  2. I to am a programmer and i understand it takes a Crap ton of time to program 1 little thing yes But that does not excuse how FLAWED the banning system is i played a game with a feeder I reported him then i qued up 30min later and GOT THE SAME GUY there for me reporting means NOTHING how ever i have a great idea for LoL to employ and just for free but you can call it the

"DM Effect" and that's where if you are reported for feeding you are then suspended from (RANKED) Games for X amount of days this only would happen if you have multiple people reporting you for your score and built in the Program! to examine your score as well to decide how ever should your score be some thing like this (13/25/9) then maybe not suspended but limited and limited to like 3 games of ranked to prove to the program as well as other your report was flawed and a mistake how ever the "DM Effect" would only take place should you have (20+) death now should you be reported again then you will remain suspended till an ACTUAL Riot Employe OR the tribunal can come by and view the chat logs and the game its self and decide your fate there

NOW i would be more then happy to help with this as far as being the guy who views this game due to me having great decision skills now again i understand programming that would be hard but could take 2 - 3 people to do so so there's my idea this way the player or in RIOT'S case the money spender can still play norm games and spend money and yet can not cause people more harm now in said program look for the %ratio of K/D and go from there now i bet EVERY 1 would agree with me on this AMAZING idea give me your thought's love Your DMTNT Shaco

So... 27 million active daily players. We can assume an average of 2 matches per player per day (which may be conservative), so 52 million matches. Average report rate is somewhere in the neighborhood of 7%, so an actual person would have to look over some 3.64 million matches per day. At an average length of 30 minutes, that's 1.82 million hours of game-time to watch every day. Assuming 8-hour workdays, that would require at least 227,500 people working full time.

If the report-rate goes up (and with a system like this, I can almost guarantee you'd have plenty of trolls going out of their way to abuse it), or if you have fewer employees available for this, you would eventually wind up with a backlog sizable enough that some innocent players would wind up perma-banned from Ranked.

I genuinely do not believe that either the financial cost of this (in terms of man-hours), or the risk of heavily alienating a not-insignificant portion of their player base would be acceptable to Riot.

But then everyone would be reporting everyone for Feeding and Ranked would be empty.

No more #LCSBigPlays either cause if they practice outside of the LCS and get reported for feeding... eesh

I really hope you realize that it should also determine the time a game last. Ive seen people who has high amounts of death, but ended up coming back from a win. You will get kills and death in this game. the sole point is to get those in order to get gold and get objectives. Plus whose to say that those death were intentional? in team fights people will die, and the amount of time the game is will increase how many time there are team fights.

Dont get me wrong i think everyone here would love a game without feeders, trolls, or other toxic behavior, but if something like this was simple and easy to make it would have been implemented a long time ago. Since that isnt the case im going to assume the people working at Riot are probably working on something thats has a better option to detect without the need of so many people looking into reports especially with how many players there are/reports being made whether valid or not. Things like this take time, money, and effort to make. Years possibly and even then they probably want to make it and release it where any false positives are low so innocent people are hurt by it!

If you are that worried about random people getting so many death by all mean either help them out any way you can, or just play with a team of people you know!

See but you arent understanding how stressful this would be. You seem to think that people will not troll report because they didnt like the person, or any other stupid reason, This will lock people out of Rank whether its legitimate or not, and will have to wait till someone actually reads the report. Like we have said millions of players play this game, with that like someone pointed out Riot would need to hire a whole bunch people just to read and determine what to do with these reports. They dont have the man power, or the money to hire these people (not to mention the proper training required for something like this) to look through hundred/thousand/millions of report cases! its just not possible even with a program to help!

You could have bad connection. Riot servers arent the greatest and there have been times when the game although started off well (little to no lag/fps/ping) after awhile it can get worse, or lag spikes can happen. Also note that something like this would be universal. In the sense that it will work for all types of queues, so game modes like ARAM, Urf or even new players with bots will be affected by this. Or else they would need to rework everything they have now. If that was the case again it would probably take years to start something like this from the ground up, get it working properly, bug testing, and releasing it.

Is see this as a great idea i'm making a new account so i can place in a high league due to being stuck in B5 and making this new account get to lvl 30 is taking a while but on my other account but even in B5 i don't see some 1 going 1/23/4 with out FEEDING so the only way this would happen is if there where feeding

Except there are other facts when reporting someone. If in this case someone falsely reports someone for AFK they have Leave buster as a backup to determine if its legit. But you also using one example, and sadly thats not how reports work. Everyone reports others for different reasons. So extreme cases like that would be easy to determine that the person should be ban from the game. What everyone is talking about is how it works now. There are going to be questionable reports that are hard to determine if said person should be punished. its a long term people are looking at when you are just looking at one example! Again though like we have said countless times is that there are millions of players in this game. Something like what you suggest cannot work with this type of game because the money and manpower is just impossible to process!

Sarutobi7/29/2015, 10:40:53 AM1 votes

while that might be true, we still need people to actually program these sorts of things. which again needs time and money to do! And to be fair something like this cannot work on just one type of report. it would need to work on all types of reports or why even bother? again what you are asking for is basically impossible especially without time and money!

Still that seems like something that can be abused pretty badly. I mean if just one report means you are ban till a riot person actually reviews the case then of the millions who play this how many of them will do just that? thats a million cases someone needs to look through in order to get back into rank which could take months or even years, and im sure it will put you back in it with another report.

There are better ways to deal with this, but sadly its not one of them. If we made it so we never see people who may have had one bad game queue times would probably be 30mins to an hour just to get into a game!
