@Riot There is a serious problem with PBE

OK, so I just want to make clear that this isn't a bug report. There are a number of problems with PBE, but there isn't any game breaking bugs currently going on. This is a post about the ineffectiveness PBE seems to have on the actual game and how major bugs slip through to live even after being on PBE for ages.

The number one problem with PBE is the lack of player traffic. I can hop on PBE (as I am right now) and sit in a queue for an hour and never get a match. That is a major problem, not just cause of the wait times, but because it scares other testers off. Mostly, PBE is full of people who just want to play the new champs, new skins, or even test out new builds. It isn't taken seriously. Why test when you feel you don't make a difference anyways and even if you do go to test, either the champ/skin is taken from you by someone who just wants to try them out or the long queue times discourages you from even waiting to get in the game.

People feel that PBE is a waste of time. A good example of this is Azir. People were reporting the bugs with him on PBE for the entirety of the time he was there, but he went live bugged and was then disabled for a week while these bugs got fixed. This kind of thing happens a lot to PBE testers. They feel if they report the bugs, they are just going to be ignored, so what is the point.

Now why am I taking the time, to point these problems out? Because this trend needs to end. People on PBE are not being as effective as they can be. I think you need to improve the status of PBE Riot, for the good of the League community in general. So that game breaking bugs don't slip through. I know that people shouldn't need incentives to play the PBE, but at the same time, the more people playing on the PBE that have accounts for it, the better. Riot, you need to implement a small reward system to motivate your PBE players so that more log in, more play games, more test what needs testing. Whether it's a reward for discovering a bug first, playing X amount of games a PBE warrants a prize, or just a simple thank you note from a Rioter every time a crisis is avoided.

TLDR Improve PBE to promote people to play it for testing and for more who have the accounts to log in and play more often to ensure that 20 minute queue times aren't a common occurrence and so bugs that normally slip through are caught long before they even start moving into the live server. For the health of the League community overall, please do something about this Riot.

Edit: People have come forward and suggested that 1. Veteran players that have been playing X amount of years should get access as long as they have remained active on their main account, 2. don't allow for new content to be banned on PBE when draft is the only thing open (this included champs who get new skins) 3. add a special border to people who are active testers on live, make them feel good about making the game better by not allowing bugs to seep through to live 4. Stricter regulations to prevent non testers from keeping their PBE account via reports at end of game.

Feels like a Déjà-vu

I thought I commented on such a thread yesterday.

The problem does exist, but I highly doubt any of your suggested methods would fix it.
