What is "ELO Hell?"
I just posted this as a comment in another post, but I felt obligated to share it with the rest of you.
This is what I feel "ELO Hell" really is, as opposed to what the majority think it is.
Elo hell isn't some place in bronze where you'll never win, rather, it is the metaphorical place in one INDIVIDUAL'S ranking in which their current skills or level of play isn't good enough to help them succeed in their current rank, thus they are unable to advance in the ladders. The solution is to simply get better. If you've ever watched a plat or diamond ranked player smurf on a bronze or silver account, its noticeable. Their game play mechanics and level of play is far beyond that of bronze or silver ranking. If you want to advance, you have to first learn how to play on that level of play.
This idea of ELO Hell exists in all rankings, too. Say you're a plat player, and you want to move on to diamond, but find yourself unable to do so because of some fault, whether it is because of your or your teammates. If something goes wrong, then you shouldn't blame the individual that had something go wrong, because there is always something anybody else on the map could have done. As simple as it goes, someone could call MIA and prevent a mid roam to bot. Instead of blaming bot lane for dying to "OP Kassadin," perhaps you can help them by ganking bot yourself, in hopes to help them succeed.
TL/DR: ELO hell isn't real, you just need to play better. What better place to do this than in normals?
Keep in mind this is just my opinion, and isn't necessarily "What ELO Hell actually is."
