Champion to main...

Alright so here's my problem, I've been playing this game for a while and I really do love it. This game has been an escape for me when I needed it and it's gotten me through lot. Here's my problem: I finally decided I want to main a champion and become extremely skilled at that particular champion but I can't figure out who to main. I think this would be good for me for multiple reasons...

  1. I can more easily carry myself out of bronze because I can be more comfortable on my champion so I can focus on my actual game play more
  2. I can enjoy the game more and always have something to consistently improve on
  3. I can save Influence points by not having to buy every champ

My question to the community is: What champion should I main? I'm way too indecisive and I'm open to any suggestions.

If you're looking to become a one trick pony, I would suggest Kayle, mostly because she's so flexible in where she goes and how she itemizes - you'll encounter very few situations where Kayle isn't at least acceptable for your team. Jayce and Lulu would also be solid choices for the same reason - both of them can potentially fill up to four roles to varying degrees of success, and have the advantage of relatively high skill ceilings so you don't get bored.

I'd suggest staying away from champions that can only fill one role, as well as champions that are commonly banned, for pretty obvious reasons.

My suggestion is (although I avoid ranked play, I do spectate and watch a fair amount of LCS, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt) to choose champions that are 'safest' in terms of their ability to farm and stay in lane without exposing themselves to ganks or the enemy laner. I've noticed that, the majority of the time at least, top tier picks tend to revolve around how 'safe' a champion is in lane, and their ability to farm safely - even preferably from a distance (although many very safe champions farm in melee range for instance). Also, to help determine what would be a good pick - I'd suggest taking a look at lolking and other sites for champion win-rates. This can help you determine which champions seem to be the most effective overall, and maybe with some analysis of their kits you can see why these champions do particularly well in their various roles. Those are my two-cents! Not sure if anybody else made these suggestions, - if so, feel free to ignore. :)
