What if I don't agree?

If you play League, you've probably seen a message that reads

"Abandoning a match or being AFK results in an unfair game for your teammates, and is a punishable offense in League of Legends. Do you agree not to leave any further games?"

And then you are forced to type "I Agree" into a text box.

I'm pretty sure you have. But sometimes, the fact that you don't connect or AFK is out of your control. Whether it be a technical problem or an emergency. It just seems like an lazy excuse for you not to be able to dispute it. I think this system definitely needs some improvements.

Also, the post that Lyte made has -390 downvotes as of now. What are your ideas?

Why would you ever choose "No, I don't agree not to abandon my team in the future"?

If things aren't going your way, you should learn to grow up and finish the game like an adult rather than taking your ball and going home.

You can dispute it if its an emergency, technical problem (e.i, power outage, game crash, bug, glitch, or anything to do with the client). Simply sumbit a ticket to Riot explaining how you feel you were wronged, and they will either explain why they won't remove punishment, or they will remove the punishment and understand your situation.

The reason it exists is so you don't just randomly decide in the middle of a match "I could go for some McDonalds" and just up and leave. Or say "I gotta use the restroom". These are things you should have done before clicking "match me with teammates".

Having bad internet is also a thing you cannot dispute. Why? Because if you have a lot of disconnects because your internet is running at 1kbs, you are essentially ruining the game for everyone else. Now, if your internet is usually amazing, running at like 6mbs or higher, and one day it cuts off randomly due to say a storm, or the internet company having some issues, then you can dispute it.

Riot isn't always heartless, they understand their community are human beings. I think.

I think that he's right in terms of both types of AFK's, intentional and unintentional, having the same negative effects on gameplay.

However, I think he's dead wrong, at the point where he throws up his hands and says therefore they are both getting the same punishment.

One type, the intentional AFK troll, should get a much harsher punishment that the other.

I don't think that an unintentional AFK should get away without any punishment, but it should much less severe.

Also, Riot needs to make how many times you've disconnected from a game a statistic which can be publicly viewed. However it should limited in scope to a timeframe, like say, amount of disconnected games in past 3 months.
