What is Riot doing about reports these days?

So I just had a game with a jungler who told our mid she was r%%%%%ed several times before she afked, and then told everyone is all chat to report her. I called him out and said she only afked because he harassed her. Our adc (I think was duo with our jungler) told me to commit suicide. I reported them at the end like I should, but does that really do anything anymore? The last time I really saw anything about Riot handling abusive players was months ago when they started handing out automatic two week bans for racial/homophobic/death threats. The tribunal has been down for a year, and doesn't seem like it will be coming back up any time soon. So is my report accomplishing anything, or does Riot not care anymore?

I am glad you made this thread since I was going to make one too. Its one thing if someone is just being a troll, which should still be punished, its another when people cross a certain line. I had an ARAM yesterday and the enemy Karthus was such scum that even his own teammates where telling them to shut up. And since Rito doesn't leave mutes follow into the stats of the game at the end, the person then was going at it for as long as people were there. I sat there in chat to see how long he would go at it til he got bored. It was literally 20 minutes before he finally left the chat, with it being filled with a mix of trolling talk, saying you got no life, insulting your actual life.

Its one thing if you are just being a troll ingame, that is easy to ignore, and saying you got no life is funny since they are no more than a hypocrite since they waste hours themselves, but the last part is crossing the line. Why the hell is someone wishing sickness or death on someone over a damn game?

From what people say, Riot doesn't sound like they are making any attempts to fix anything, Tribunal from the sounds of it was the report system basically, it was where punishments were handed out, something seriously like that wouldn't take a year to fix. And an automated system isn't good enough alone. There is a reason why most companies have automated systems AS WELL AS a team of GMs with the sole purpose of looking over reports and watching the community to see how they are acting. While Riot can't do the 2nd part since its not like an MMO where everyone is on the same screen, they can do the first one themselves and the Tri did it too. But they removed it. I am sorry but I know its a lot of work, but you don't take a year to fix something of this importance, their next Skin sale can wait. Most companies would literally have such a drastic system up in a matter of days. Hell, most the toxic people I hear in League would be banned in most MMOs, they get away with it here since Riot has nothing really in place to stop them.

The tribunal needs to come back. Not only was it a good way of dealing with toxic players, but it was a pretty fun job at the time. I'd laugh my head off reading some of the chat logs. It was like working at an office with fresh lulz being brought to your desk every half hour or so.

I mean, I was serious, I only condemned people who were reported for legitimately being toxic, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun in the process.

They definitely do something.. I can attest to that.. They seem to issue (for me anyway, when it happened) like.. 20-30 game chat mutes. Though I've seen the error in my ways, there's no use raging at anyone, it just don't accomplish anything, so please don't rag on me about being a rager once upon a time.

But they do, do SOMETHING about it. I mean, the people who use homophobic/racial/death threats/etc, should definitely be getting more then a chat ban for a few games tho.. Cuz that's just ridiculous. I also feel like the people who report someone for no reason should be punished in some way for being "the boy who cried wolf" sorta deal. I could have played a great game, didn't feed and what not and still get reported for no reason, which i think is kinda abusing that system.

Honestly man I don't know. I've reported people and the immediately get a notification that they will be chat banned (this is in post game chat)

the number one thing I want riot to fix is its fucking report sysyem. They are lagging on that, it shouldn't take almost a year to do

I have tested this system - trolling and feeding repeatedly and I can tell you reports cause chat restrictions. and that is all. on my troll account I must have been reported hundreds of times by now and the worst punishment ive seen is 160 game chat restriction where you can still chat 5 times at the start and 1 extra time every 3 minutes or so.

test it yourself or just check out this guy - http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/NA1/216133446

his match history proves nothing serious comes of reporting. 200+ afks in ranked matches.

Riot actually has a bunch of systems besides the tribunal to control negativity. Like, if a person gets reported every other game, the computer will notice this and ban them. The system can tell if someone said a bad word that's racial or homophobic or stuff. I've also heard that the computer has a way to tell if someone was trolling. The problem with this is that if a person explodes every 15 games and avoids using key words, they will probably bypass the system. Tribunal is good for hand-picking people quickly and certainly.

can i advise riot a suggestion? i see the new system that is really good. can u promote another system in rank ? for example, if someone want to play a new champion in rank, he or she need to practice at least 40 times. when i am in the rank, i find many players want to practice their new champion in rank even they are not familiar with skills.

Im sure something is being done, or what would even be the point in having a report system. Just because they arent talking about it regularly on the forums shouldnt be an indication that nothing is being done about it! they probably have a good reason because people can see what keywords, or actions determine the punishment and can abuse the system even more!

Just keep reporting people who you feel are breaking the rules and assume that something is being done about it! If anything you could probably also screenshot said abuse and submit a report ticket especially if its something as serious as that!
