While the details are not yet completely filled in, the news of him apparently committing suicide is so very saddening. If indeed his depression and/or other mental illnesses played a part in Mr. Williams taking his own life it is an indication that depression can be fatal when not treated with the utmost seriousness.
I've been there myself. Mental illness is as debilitating as any physical ailment at it's worst. It can also be a silent killer of sorts. Those who suffer severe depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, etc, often suffer alone. This can mean someone may not be financially able to treat the illness as mental health often doesn't get as much parity as other physical ailments, or that someone isn't feeling confident about disclosing how much their affliction is affecting them. Either way it's a tragedy.
This is admittedly soapboxing, but if indeed mental illness played apart in his passing, it hits even closer to my heart.
Anyone who is feeling this way, who is suffering but feels trapped in that well, know that there is no shame in seeking help. There is nothing to be afraid of in asking for assistance. Whether this is from a family member, a doctor, a hotline or a stranger, let someone know that you are feeling unstable. Someone cares about you. Someone knows what you are going through. Someone is there with you. Don't ever forget that.
