Why get reported when u have no control

ive had it happen a few times since i got league, but I'm sick of being the one in trouble. When there is a storm and the power goes out instead of it being a DC i always get a warning when I'm able to get back on the next day saying i left the game and have to wait. or that everyone i played with reported me even if i was doing good. I've even had a sibling and sometimes roommate restart the house wifi just because they where having trouble reconnecting yet even though stuff like that is out of my hand i get in trouble for it? is there a way to report my case when stuff like that happens? I've asked before and no one ever gives me an answer and i haven't seen anything so far about this.

The only way your teammates will know you didn't just rage quit is if you are able to come back and tell them.

As for getting punished for it, Riot is quite lenient; everybody gets plenty of chances to fix their issues before they get a severe penalty. Just one or two disconnections because of a thunderstorm won't get you a temp ban, but if you play 30 games in a thunderstorm and are labeled a leaver for half of them then you will, because you should have stopped playing.

You shouldn't have internet problems that cause you to leave a whole game. Usually mine lasts like 15 minutes max, enough time to come back and explain yourself.

There is no way to report your case for circumstances like yours. The system is as much to stop people from having regular connection problems as it is people who rage quit.

Sure, weather is out of your control. But it is rarely a completely surprise. If you know have connection issues during bad weather, stop queuing when there is bad weather. Check the weather before you play if you have to. If you have a problem with people resetting your router then you need to come up with some household rules to check for others using it when you are going to reset the network. etc.

At the end of the day one simple fact remains regardless of cause - you left a game, your team was negatively impacted. Leavers have the same impact regardless of the malicious or benign intent. There's no pleading your case as the cause is irrelevant and you lack proof that there wasn't malicious intent. The fact is that it is within your control - if your room mates / family are resetting the router you should be back in the game within 5 minutes - you might get reported for AFK if the loss occurs within that time... but if you return and work hard to come back, unlikely your team will report you.
The fact that you're expecting leniency on this indicates this is more than a common occurrence which indicates a larger connectivity problem. That's up to you to work out and not Riot's or your peers responsibility to cope with.
