Amumu's Race

So after a heated debate with a friend of mine on this topic i thought I would come here and explain my thoughts about and see what you think.

Evidence pointing towards Yordle:

  1. Annie is about 6-7 years old and I would wager than Amumu is about 10-11. Compare their sizes and Amumu has a giant head compared to her, a feature that is well known about Yordles
  2. In Veigar's lore it says it is dangerous for Yordles to be alone and isloated. I believe that Amumus temper and sorrow is a form of this isloation. He could have been isolated so long that even him not knowing he was a Yordle, he has to the same symptoms as Veigar
  3. Unless I have missed something each of the other cities and areas has a tie to Bandle City (Kennen for Ionia, Poppy for Demacia, Gnar for Freljord, etc etc) except Shurima. It is possible that Amumu could have been the diplomat and Azir thought of him as a son and when he died he buried him like he was. Conversely it says in his lore how the last image on the wall showed mourning and cheering. It is possible that Amumu died after Azir he took up the temporary mantle until Azirs children were of age and because he was a outsider leading a foreign land he was loved and hated by many.
  4. All Yordles (Veigar excluded) seem to love to make friends which makes Amumu's quote "Lets be friends forever" much more illuminating
  5. When the Pharaoh had more than one child (which we know Azir must have atleast one due to Sivir) the eldest is put in charge. However a toddler couldnt take up the role so it would go to the priests guidance. Which would show that Azir's son was not old enough and the only one able to fill it was Amumu.

So to recap everything I just said, let me tell you my timeline of events of what I think happened.

  1. Amumu, the Shurmia diplomat from Bandle City arrives
  2. Azir, the kind hearted leader takes a liking to Amumu and treats him as a son, since he does not have his own yet.
  3. At Azir's side, Amumu becomes beloved by some of the people, but others view him as a outsider and hate him
  4. Azir is killed due to Xeraths trickery.
  5. Azir's child is either just born or has been born and is too young to step into Pharaoh role
  6. Amumu, honoring his fallen ally takes up the Mantle and tries to hold Shurima together
  7. Due to a sickness (plague) from the failing city, Amumu falls ill and dies.
  8. When buried they depict Amumu as the prince due to his love for Azir and the leadership he commanded
  9. However the pictures also revealed the hate Amumu had for being a yordle in a human land.
  10. They did not add ears or a tail to the drawings because they felt they should show him as truly Azir's son and made him more human.

Again this is just my point of view but the one that seems to make the most sense. Thank you for reading :)

He's a yordle. How can you confirm this? Go into a custom on the Howling Abyss map on blue side as Amumu. The store keeper will say "A Yordle? Yuck".

Riot may make Amumu a Human Child, but previously (before Tahm Kench's lore) he was/is a Yordle... an undead Yordle, lol.
