10 FAVORITE CHAMPIONS IN LEAGUE
When it comes to having favorites, what reason do you have for choosing it in the first place? Is it that something is clearly better than the other? Or is it because of it's story and background? Or you just get a lot of enjoyment out of it? In League of Legends, people are persuaded to play and use 'Meta' Champions and builds, because it is currently the strongest at the time. Yes, people learn how to abuse certain items and champions along the way- but is it natural? Is that connection really there? People often main 1 or 2 different champions, if they are serious about ranked. More casual players will have a much larger pool of champions they play, or use just whoever they feel like! (I sort of fall into this category, by the way). Your favorite champion does not always have to be the champion you main. You could still suck at a champion, but you still favor them just because you love there character too much. Or, you play a champion that isn't exactly strong, but you still get a lot of enjoyment out of them. This is why we have favorites. Today, or tonight, you get the luxury to read my analysis and opinions on MY top 10 favorite champions in League of Legends.
P.S. - I would like to express my gratitude to the people who took the time out of their lives to give me some advice about my whole, "Quitting League of Legends" fiasco. I took some of your guy's advice and I am actually feeling better, and I have a been having much more fun with the game than I have been recently. My anger issues are still a work in progress however... but, without further ado! -
10.
Rumble, the Mechanized Menace (whom I refer to as; Shitty Gundam Pilot)
Rumble is one of the few champions I picked up at first, solely because I liked his story. He gives off this underdog vibe, all while being an arrogant asshole. My best description of his personality would be like that smart-ass teenager who most adults praise for his incredible intellect that is obviously there, but would much rather think of more ways than one on how to get back at some Jock's ex-girlfriend, by getting her drunk so he can post suggestive pics of her on Instagram.
Nevertheless, you still can't but feel sorry for the guy, because he is basically that kid who didn't receive enough attention as a child, which led to him becoming an anti-social, loner, who's only friend is a rusty scrap-box named after his crush, with the reason having been made entirely based on some prejudice he has against humans. Not to mention his crush is running off with the person he hates the most: Teemo. Ouch.
I liked what he represented as a character, so I decided to give him a try. I ended up really enjoying him. That is why I have Rumble at 10.
9.
Aatrox, the Darkin Blade (whom I refer to as; Edgy Demon Sword)
Aatrox has been a joke throughout the community for being the worst champion in the game for a long time now, but ever since they made some changes to him in recent patches, I have found him quite useful. Now, I know he still has his obvious problems, but (and don't crucify me for this please) I happen to play a lot of Twisted Treeline, and I quite often won. The only reason I purchased him was because I wanted to see if I could win with the worst champion to exist, and for a while I never touched him. Recently I started playing him in TT, and I have had a lot of success, despite what you would assume. Out of 35 games I played with Aatrox on TT, I won 23 of those games. Most of my losses came from my team having an afk.
I found his play style... invigorating. If you want to be successful with Aatrox, then you have to prepare for a fight, which happen more often on TT than Summoners Rift. He gets a free revive if he happens to reach 5 stacks on his resource bar. Reaching 5 of these stacks also gives him increased attack speed, which is crucial to his survival. Attacking jungle monsters, and enemy champions will refresh his passive, as it will rapidly decay if he does not hit anything in a few seconds. There were so many times that I got a double kill, because hit Ult combined with his passive makes him deceptively strong, and the enemy had no idea what to do. That is why I have Aatrox at 9 on my list.
8.
Bard, the Wandering Caretaker (whom I refer to as; Musically Adequate Guru)
Bard was the newest champion in League when I first started playing, so his impact on me firstly wasn't that dramatic. Much later, however, when I started getting used to the game, I decided I would try out the champion that was new on the Rift when I came on the scene. I loved him. There isn't a lot to hate about his character, since he does not actually say words, and instead communicates through music (kind of like Sona, but I really hate her). His whole deal is that he wanders around helping out his teammates whenever necessary, which is probably why you get flamed for leaving lane so often, like, if you know I am leaving the lane, adc, then why are you trying to 1v2 the enemy Ezreal and Nami? Honestly. Saltiness aside, his kit is unlike any other champion in the game. Yes, he has a heal, and a stun, but... they work differently. Bard's stun is only useful if someone or something his behind them when they are struck by it. His heal can be cast on allies instantaneously, but it does not heal for much unless you set it down, and wait for it to become empowered. His E, Magical Journey is so fun to use. It's all the things you can do with it. Whether it's baiting enemies, or giving your allies a quick escape, the only time this ability is useless, is when you happen to be on ARAM. But his kit has more difficulty than expected, and he feels so rewarding, even though you are just there to help lead your team to victory. That, is why Bard is at 8.
7.
Trundle, the Troll King (whom I refer to as; Smart-ass Troll)
Trundle is a literal troll, so why wouldn't you want to play him? Memes aside, I recall picking him up for the first time simply because he WAS a troll, and I thought that was funny so... eh? Not a good story like my other picks, I apologize. It took me a long time to figure out Trundle and how to make him useful, but eventually I did, and holy shit, I love this guy. Not only is he a troll, but he has the ability to 1v1 almost anyone in the game despite having 1 damaging ability (if you want to count his Ult, fine, but it does not do much damage).
Trundle is all about defending your territory. If people come to fight you in it, you will kick their ass. He can chase you down, and block off escapes, so trying to avoid his pursuit can sometimes be a lost cause. Hell, you don't even have to build tank items unless the enemy has a burst oriented composition, because he will heal so much it's unreal. Let's just say Trundle isn't the submissive type. That is why I have him at 7.
6.
Kassadin, the Void Walker (whom I refer to as; Space Herpes)
If Malzahar is Space AIDS, then Kassadin has to be Space Herpes. He hits his power spike around mid-game, and from then on will continue to deliver heavy burst to any squishy target unlucky enough to be in his sights. I first picked him up because I didn't see a lot of people playing him, so I thought I would. Only I was unaware he used to be the most broken champion in the game. It took me sometime to become used to his early game, but I eventually managed. Then I got good. Kassadin has utility, burst, poke, CC, and escape ability, he is pretty much all you want in an assassin. Unlike a lot of assassins that are mainly single-target oriented, Kassadin can still contribute lots of damage to a teamfight, without being thrust into the middle of it. Which is why he is at 6.
5.
Darius, the Hand of Noxus (whom I refer to as; The Dunk King)
If there is one thing I love more than League, it's basketball. So when I found there was a champion who executed people by dunking on them, you know I am playing this guy. To this day he is the champion I have the most mastery points with. The main reason being that I abuse him in certain game modes (like Ascension). A lot of people think Darius is broken or just overpowered, but in all honesty, I would make the argument he isn't. He has no mobility, which is all I have to say, really. The fact that RIOT made a status effect that specifically targets champions who have mobility spells in their kit, says a lot about the Meta. But Darius is classified as a Juggernaut, so he shouldn't be dashing everywhere, but he should have the strength to keep you near him. If Darius cannot keep you within his vicinity, he is useless. He has no escape, so he has a heal to help him survive, and maybe get out of there alive.
In all honesty, His Ultimate is the reason you play him. Noxian Guillotine, otherwise known as the DUNK move, will execute just about anyone with low enough health, or stacks of hemorrhage. Successfully killing his target lets him cast it again, and again, etc. Easy Pentakill. This is why he is at 5.
4.
Gangplank, the Saltwater Scourge (whom I refer to as; Pirate With A Grudge)
I remember playing GP pre-rework and really liking him. Then I stopped playing him for a long time after he had been reworked, but got back to him in time. Soon I would pick of a few of his new tricks, and I really started enjoying this new Gangplank. His utility is unmatched, in my opinion. His crits make me sharply inhale when I witness them. The only reason I have him at 4, is because you have to wait for late game for him to start making an impact.
3.
Zac, the Secret Weapon (whom I refer to as; Green Majinn Buu)
I have history with this one. When I first started playing League, and was still in amazement from the huge selection of champions to choose from, I went through and took note of champions that caught my eye. These 3 champions were Azir, Vladmir, and Zac. Zac was the only champion I happened to pick up, not to say I wasn't disappointed. Zac became my favorite very quickly, and he was the first champion I ever purchased with IP. To this day, this was the most IP I ever had at one time: 26000 IP. I discovered I could use IP to purchase champions permanently, which was quite the realization for me. Before that time I played only the champions available during free rotation. Still, I had no idea how to jungle, so I would always take him top. I remember crushing it up there. Not sure how, but I did. Then I heard something about Zac and Malphite being one of those few tanks that could jungle effectively, and I started to play the Jungle role.
I swear if the Vanguard update wasn't a buff to Zac, Mao'kai, and Sejuani, I have no idea what is was. He seems stronger than ever before, now that his kit is more CC oriented, with his chances of securing a kill from a gank sky rocketing. Now you don't even have to land his E to get a kill, his Q is all you need. Even with this, it's still very possible that you can miss every ability in his kit, making you useless for a short period of time. But it is pretty hard to miss everything, so I always find a way to contribute to a fight when I am playing Zac. That is why he is at 3.
2.
Twisted Fate, the Card Master (whom I refer to as; Card Fanatic/Critic)
The second champion I purchased after Zac, was Twisted Fate. And I could not, for the life of me wrap my head around his E, being a passive stack. Eventually I figured it out, and now feel like an idiot but I was young so thats my excuse. I have had many excellent games with TF in the past, and I honestly can't see why he isn't played more. He has a long skill shot, that does good damage, goes through all targets hit. He has an empowered basic attack which means he cannot miss it, with the ability to choose what kind of utility he wants out of it. Another basic attack buff. To top it all off, he has an Ultimate which reveals everyone's position, and he gets the luxury to blink to that lane of his choice and secure a kill. Not to mention he can go mid, in the jg, and even adc when the time is right. What more would you want from him!? The fact his W is such a diverse and unique spell is why I love him so much, the fact the player get's to choose what his next attack will be. I hope RIOT makes another ability like it in the future. This is why he is at 2.
Honorable Mentions:

1.
Draven, the Glorious Executioner (whom I refer to as; Narcissistic Man With Axes)
I have made an entire post on why Draven is my favorite champion, so I will make this brief. He is an egotistical narcissist, who wields spinning axes to execute his enemies in the most spectacular way possible. That is why he is 1 on my list.
P.S. - I would love to see what your guy's favorite champions in League are, and what reason you have for liking them. Sometimes I will ask what people's favorite champions are in champ select or in-game and they normally won't respond. Or they say Trundle... hmm.

One of the few champs I bought on release and I love her playstyle/kit
I don't play him much, but he's to fabulous not to be on this list
Ok
She is the first champion I specifically bought. As in, I looked at the champs and their kits and picked Ahri.
"That tasted Purple"
IDK I just do. Side point, shameless plug for an Irelia rework Idea I had:
