Dear Rioters (An open letter to all Riot employees)

I read Silverling's post yesterday and Riot Zwill's reply to it and I realized that a certain response as a member of the community was required. Riot Zwill noted that most rioters were shy and didn't want to be harassed by negative interactions from the community and it got me thinking. After a lot of thought I decided to write this open letter to the Rioters who have made this game that I love so much.

Dear Rioters,

I am a fairly new player to League. I started playing in Season 4 so it hasn't been very long as compared to other veterans. I also acknowledge that I know very little of how this game has progressed over the years when I hadn't discovered League of Legends. Hence, my opinion of what and how you guys do things is based on very limited and incomplete information and of course has very low value.

However, in the time I have been a part of the community and have played this game I've realized some very important things. This game inspires people. Artists, musicians, story writers, video makers, animation geniuses and lets not forget the brilliant and witty meme makers! It helps you meet and interact with a community who don't make you feel like you're the only nerd on the planet. You're not the only one who sometimes uses 'GG' sarcastically in an actual IRL conversation by mistake! You're not the only nerd obsessed with owls and anime.

I've also realized that any Rioter you actually go ahead and interact with makes you feel like you and that Rioter could actually be really great friends had they interacted as friends IRL. Everyone seems so absurdly nice and down to earth it makes you feel good. I myself keep posting fan-made musical themes and it feels so good to know that the game makers actually liked what you made and make requests like any normal person would! It makes you feel like you belong to the community. Like you belong to the amazing Riot Games. If nothing else it makes one respect and honor the Rioter who actually took out the time to interact with you and tell you his/her thoughts about whatever you did, whether its community creations, bug reporting, feedback on gameplay, champ ideas, skin ideas, UI ideas, witty comebacks or a simple answer to the simplest of questions. Every single person who's posted anything wants to be noticed by a Rioter (Senpaiiii!!!!) and they're probably lying if they disagree.

So you can imagine how shocked I was when I read that some Rioters were shy of reacting or posting in discussions. It made no sense. Why be shy of people who actually WANT you to interact with them. Especially when they want to interact with you. Sure you have trolls and kids who wanna insult you for fun but the number of these people are absurdly lower than those who will absolutely treat you with respect and love. People who'd jump around if a Rioter told them 'Damn gurrlll you draw awesummm!!!! Sona plssss!!!'

TL;DR: Rioters, please understand this basic fact. WE WANT YOU HERE! Talk to us. Post your ideas. Post your thoughts and discussions more often. Post if you liked something. Post if you disliked something. Post your art ideas. Post your music ideas. Post memes or Gifs. Complain about a game. Or complain about your boss (jk don't do that. I don't want you getting your ass handed to you. Bosses can be mean! -.-' ). Just come talk to us. Have fun. Enjoy yourselves. You created a GREAT game. You have built a GREAT community. So, don't be shy. Join us for some good fun or a good game. And trust me, if someone tries to be an arse to you, trust the community to downvote that post and person to oblivion. WE LOVE YOU! Don't let anyone tell you different.
