So how good are the newer champs riot has released?
I was looking at the champ releases when I've noticed that Jinx is the most recently made champ on my roster. That made me wonder, who is you guy's most recently made champ? Who's the newest champ that you all have been really happy playing?
While I'd love to get a new champ, aside from maybe braum or vekkers (neither are new either) none of the champs since appeal to me or have a decent win rate (kalista was nerfed too hard IMO). To be honest I'd rather get graves before either of them because he's been fun to play every time I've gotten him in ARAM on the free weeks. I really like the fact I'm still discovering older champs, but the newer champs just seem to be lacking something that says get me, play me. It kind of bums me out a little.
I'm looking at champ popularity right now and it seems like after Jinx (high win rate, yo) the most popular "new" champs are Gnar and Yasuo. They came out awhile ago. Him, jinx, and yasuo are the only three champs in the past few years that have at least a 10% popularity.
In terms of win rates, after the kalasta nerf only Jinx, Braum, Vekkers, and Aatrox have a win rate that's above 50%. So of 17 champs, 4 of them or 23% are currently sitting in a good spot if you want to win. Even the hugely popular thresh is barely floating about the 48% win rate. Gnar and Yasuo are playable but not OP in terms of win rate. Going back 10 champs (to yasuo) there's only 2 above 50% win rate with 2 more in the playable range. That's 4 out of 10. That's including a champ who was too powerful and is now too nerfed (failure on both ends, yay). You'd think by now riot would be a little better at getting a champ into the good enough but not too good range, so I wonder what's going on.
