Reporting for being a noob.... whats going on with that?

See title. I have seen this a lot in normal games along with reporting for ksing..... Are not normal games for learning and becoming better? How can people be reported for this? One thing I also noticed when reporting someone there is an option for reporting someone for being an 'unskilled' player. How is that possible? Its very subjective. Normal games are not ranked games, so if newer 30's can't play them how are they to learn. Well, I try to ignore these comments and move on. Luckily comments like this have not been recently directed at me (I am learning), but they still bother me. And you know when, I find when comments like this start to happen, 9 times out of 10 the team loses, people get upset, frustrated, and things snowball.

So I guess my question is, do things and attitudes ever get better? It kind of makes me nervous about ever going ranked, which I don't plan to do until I can get a couple hundred wins under my belt, but getting that many wins is going to be a challenge with many normal games deteriorating due to insults etc. I am very discouraged at the moment.

As with every online game, people generally start pointing blame and insulting others when they begin to lose. It's an inevitable event, and we can't avoid it.

I just did a normals game where my jungle and adc both fed horribly, but instead of yelling at them I just went on with the game. Though, when they refuse to vote on a surrender vote, it does get pretty aggravating (reminds me, can we have the ability to /ff even if people who are like 0/10/0 vote no? good lord.)

Use your ignore button. I might even OVERuse it but where before I was playing with people like you're describing that insult people constantly I now play with more respectable people. I have seen a high increase in wins because I now have teammates that listen and encourage good playing and constructive criticism as opposed to just flat out yelling at people. True some trolls and ragers make it through from time to time but I just hit the ignore button and move on. Also helps if you can spot them in champ select. Sometimes it pays to dodge a game and wait 5 or 15 minutes if it means you get a more compatible team.

Someone who threatens to report doesn't always go through with it. Riot did some research and found that most people who threaten to report, actually don't. And people who abuse their reporting powers have their reports have less weight when determining if there should be punishment. Unless you repeatedly get notifications of being reported, then there isn't anything to worry about. I for the most part have have an enjoyable ranked experience, though I've only played a bit more than 100 ranked games.

after seeing this post I had to step in. Its not surprising that people vent each other for just trivial matters that require no effort at all but of course the answer to such things resides in the psychological factor which was why the Honor System was created to at least lighten the corrupted community we have and even on other MMOs there are flamers who just vent out on for no reason. "Pride? Attention?, Stress?" It really sad to see what could be the reason for these actions but at this point all you can do is endure it, ignore the player, or just don't say anything and remain silent and let them rage as some may even want a response from the victim.

Hello may i start by saying what u are addressing is a very good argument :). I myself have reported a few people as unskilled but this is my reasoning. one if it an AI match i will not report you for doing bad AI in my opinion is a place for casual practice and fun, where you have a free chance to do trial and error. The exception is again for verbal harassment or just being flat out rude to other teammates. When it comes to PVP i have a little more seriousness and expect my teammates not to win but to do there best and come in prepared with a strategy or tactic in mind. Usually again as long as the teammates with me are doing there best and enjoying a good honorable match i will not report unless an issue again occurs. Now for rank match's i believe that is where one should bring there "A game". by already practiced in both AI and PVP and have already established skill, teamwork, and a set strategy for a good variety of champions. I only am strict on rank for this reason alone if the match is 5v5 and one player is a unskilled you are now fighting a 4v5 in a sense by taking the pressure and compensating your effort on two tasks. This can be very frustrating and aggravating but as a note to all players you shouldn't rage and insult that new player trying giving tips and suggestions during downtime of the match in order to better increase your odds of winning as a team :). A note for you DragonBlast do not be afraid to try rank in my opinion i enjoy rank more then normal PVP and find it enjoyable and a good way to strategies with teammates while discuss strengths and weakness.
