Addiction - Offical Stance

Riot,

What is your official stance on addiction? Having worked in the gaming industry (Casino) I know what kind of effect games have on people and how they can ruin their lives. I don't think it's only casino's that do that, while a casino will certainly ruin a hopeless addict financially, I know that games can quickly become more than a game. Do you offer any support to someone that wants to stop playing? I know in casino's they have an option to limit play if someone knows that they cannot control themselves, is something like that in the works?

I just played a game with a guy who was really depressed over a loss, I spoke with him about it and he felt better after we spoke but really their should be some kind of option for these situations. This is supposed to be a fun and competitive environment but often times it becomes more than that and takes over their life. I'm not talking about the large majority of gamers, like casinos it's a minority but a problem.

I know some people will think that this is stupid but an addiction is a dangerous thing and it's not just so easy as putting it down and walking away. People need help often from every angle to overcome and find their own confidence to battle their problem.

Anyway,

Thanks for your responses.

i actually lived in far rockaway, that's coincidence. Yeah, its real and it's seems at the moment its downplayed. Alot of children are addicted and the industry is in denial.

Not really sure why Riot would need to make a public announcement about this. Addiction comes in many forms, and often certain personalities have more issues than others. I have friends who are addicted to work, drugs, food, games, etc. It's a serious issue but something that people have to overcome themselves, or others to notice the problem and reach out (and preferably tangible people, not internet meetups). Just my two cents.
