Chat restrictions

So...You log in and you get the window that says "Chat restrictions for the next ___ games"... You can generally think back to something you have said in the previous weeks that would warrant those chat restrictions.. I have gone through 3 chat restrictions in the last 9 months...and I can say I probably deserved them. But after this last one I have been salty to nobody I have not talked about anyones mom...or the fact that they suffer from downs. I decided to be civil to everyone regardless of the way they act. But still I log on today to find I have chat restrictions for the following 35 games and unable to play ranked for X amount of games. Knowing I said nothing to offend anyone...What the fk ? Why am I being punished? I received no email from riot explaining why or how they came to this conclusion. Anyone else run into this?
I wont say I havent had bad games where I may go into the negative. But I didnt name call or anything. I finished my game and moved on to the next one...I would imagine that is what the punishment is for...but when im being punished regardless of my behavior im wondering whats the fkn point in being polite if im going to lose chat either way. Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation?

Most likely, this most recent restriction is a continuation of a previous restriction. There's a thing that sometimes happens where chat restrictions are issued by the system in chunks - it was supposed to be changed, and for the most part it has been, but it still happens occasionally.

Alternatively, there's something you're not sharing about your behavior.

As a third alternative, there's something you're doing or saying which you may not view as toxic, but which Riot does, and that's the reason behind your restriction.

Nothing im not sharing. I simply decided that me getting the satisfaction of telling someone to eat a peepee isnt worth chat restrictions. So I decided to not say mean things to anyone...as communication in game is far more important than me feeling better about telling someone off. The only thing I know I have been reported for is ...picking non traditional junglers. Such as teemo or lulu. While I get that people may not like my choice I generally do good unless they decide they dont want to help when i gank their lane...or things like that. In which case its not me trolling. Im still there trying to win the game, its the person thats on my team that isnt wanting to help win the game because they dont think people should get to teemo jungle or lulu jungle. Then who is toxic? These are the only times I KNOW I have been reported since my last restriction. I find it unfair to punish someone for picking a champion that is capable of doing the role, but is not traditionally picked for the role. That would be like me reporting the next person that plays Xin support or ...hell even Annie support.

This is truly saddening...from what I have gathered from these posts...Since the tribunal is down right now im being punished based on the number of times I have been reported. Regardless of whether or not they are legitimate reports or not...im still being punished? Fuck this game.

Basically after you get ONE chat restriction. if u ever call someone a "meanie" or "poopy face". you'll get chat restricted for 15 games.

If you tell someone to please play defensive and stop feeding irelia, you'll get restricted for 10 games

If you ask 2 people to stop fighting and focus on the game you'll get 21 games

Unfortunately with Riot, once your account has been banned/restricted/punished, you never can get that black stain off your record. You will be punished more easily, more often, and more severely unless you make an entirely new account.
