Idea for Balancing LP in Ranked Games with Disconnects/Crashes.

Not quite sure where to put this, but I've found that many times, the effort a player puts into teamwork, communication, skill, and game knowledge can be more than countered by the loss of players from their team. I've been on both sides of games where the team that had 4 players was clearly the better team, but were beaten down by sheer numbers. Lately I feel like I've been on the side of the 4 more often than the 5, but either way, it's not a balanced playing environment, yet the more skilled team often loses the game, and a good chunk of League Points, despite having more skill and teamwork. Unless there is a larger issue than an individual game, there will not be a loss forgiven, you just have to suck it up and hope that it doesn't happen the next game, and over and over until you get demoted. With that in mind, I'd like to propose an idea for balancing LP in unfairly stacked ranked games:

For the team with more players, have them win less LP depending on how many players are missing. For the team with less players, have them lose less LP depending on how many players are missing. This could be extended to awarding more LP to the smaller team if they can win, and removing more LP from the larger team if they lose.

I know it's a very simplistic idea, and won't fix everything, but it might bring the rankings closer to a measure of skill than a measure of luck in not having someone disconnect on your team. In conjunction with the recent anti-toxicity initiative, I think this could go a good way to delivering some relief from the anti-fun patterns players experience knowing that there's very little counterplay for disconnects, afks, ragers, intentional feeders, and trolls. After all, if someone is bent on sabotaging their team's chances to win, they are highly likely to succeed, and if someone is gone for a majority or all of the game (intentional or not) it undermines the rest of the team's chances, try as they might. I would love to see things put in place to combat some of these other difficulties as well, to some degree, if Riot or anyone in the community has some ideas.

Thanks for listening! Thresh "Gotta catch 'em all!"
