There is exactly one thing you can learn from Miiverse.

Miiverse, for those unacquainted, is a "social media" site/in game feature for Nintendo devices. It's... bad. Really bad. Sure, it had some decent features, but overall it was just bad. It started out as a pretty chill place for people who had a Wii U to hang out. It was kinda like a Nintendo message board combined with Twitter. Which is a weird combination. Then the 3DS update came out, then many, many changes were made to it to make messaging people less fun (imagine having a conversation where you could only say something every 3 minutes. Then imagine having multiple conversations where you can only say something every 3 minutes on any of them. So you had to wait 3 minutes to say something to person 1, then another 3 min to say something to person 2, etc.), and recently Miiverse got an update which killed any fun it still had. However, the one thing it always had and was always hated were the admins. The silent admins stalked the site for people posting anything with semi-bad words or semi-mean intentions. You can get banned for saying that you don't like the continent of Africa, or for saying that "My icon is a motherfucking dolphin motherfucking". First, you get a 2 week ban. Too many 2 week bans, your account is permanently suspended. But wait! You can make another account. Many "famous" people had up to 10 accounts to use when their main was banned. What was done to counteract it? Bans for the console. Nobody on the console can use Miiverse ever again.

Now, how the actual fuck does this relate to League? Well, it's pretty obvious, but I'll still tell you. Console bans. Currently, a guy can be toxic in every single game, be reported (DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT REPORTS BEING USELESS THIS IS NOT THE POINT OF THE POST), have his account banned, but can just make another and be fine. You can do this infinitely. Even with the 1-30 grind, somebody could just pubstomp and flame people at Level 10 for funzies. So there needs to be a solution to these people who continue to be toxic no matter what. That could be IP bans. Not bans from getting IP (that would be too brutal), bans from playing League on that IP. It wouldn't be for a first time offence, or even a first perma-ban. It would be when someone on a certain IP has continually gotten banned on multiple accounts. And yes, I have seen this happen. Recently, I played a BOTS match (don't judge me I wanted to try out a new champion) with an Ashe on my team. This person called me a r%%%%% (or something like that) literally directly after I joined the room. Flamed the whole game. In champ select, they said that that account was a smurf and that their main was banned. Judging by the name of the account (I can't say it, Name and Shame), this person wasn't lying. Why isn't this mentality stamped out?

Miiverse is shit and anybody who still uses it commonly after the new update is not smart. However, there are thing (yes, singular thing) you can learn from it, when applied correctly and not in the way Miiverse applied it.

TL;DR: Miiverse is shit, IP bans should exist.
