Here's why people tell you that "it's just a normal, chill out"

Just because you want to try-hard doesn't mean I want to try-hard. I'm playing to have fun for myself, not to have fun for you.

These are what the people telling you "it's just a normal" are saying. You probably said something try-hard as hell, and they told you to "calm down, it's just a normal".

And you know what? It is a normal, and sometimes when I'm playing a normal I'm not practicing, I'm doing something fun because I DON'T want to try-hard, and so I'm not worried about winning or losing as long as I had fun.

Besides, winning or losing is not a gauge of your personal skill, it's a gauge of how the team played, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can focus on improving YOUR playing, the wins will come afterwards. There's way's to mitigate everything in the game, wards, communication, and creeping well, and the sooner you take precautions, the less you will die.

Play smarter, not harder, League of Legends is about information and strategy, not merely skill and mechanics.

Also, know that normals are for fun, and ranked is for competitive. That's why if you look at any Pro Player, you don't see any normals on their match histories, it's because they practice like real players should, in ranked.

No, theres a difference between saying:

"Calm down, its just a game" and "Calm down, its just a normal"

Because 98% of the people that say, "calm down, its just a normal" are the ones trolling, feeding, or helping the enemy team simply because they don't want to play the role then got stuck with. If your having fun losing, your crazy.

Your logic is a bit skewed, and here's why. That's not to say you didn't have good points, but this is what kinda made me iffy on what you're saying.

  1. Some people can't play ranked yet. The under-30s are stuck with Normals as their only form of competitive play. To them, it does matter. It matters to a lot of people.

  2. As a follow-up to 1, just as you go into a normal match with the intention of having fun and doing whatever, that person you're saying "who cares?" to went into it with the intention to practice, or try-hard, ect. Who's to say you're more right than they are with your intent of playing the game? You're not. They should be allowed to try-hard just as you're allowed to say "who cares?" and have fun. You generally don't see try-hards telling everyone to do better, because they're playing for themselves, but you're playing to tell everyone to chill out because "who cares, its normals" and ruining the experience for someone else.

  3. Lastly, in saying "ranked is where you should practice like the pros do" is false. Considering professional League-playing is considered a sport (e-sport), think of it this way: do professional basketball players only practice in televised matches? No. They don't. They still play at their home court and practice before going up against other pro teams. In the same respect, apply that to League. It is VERY possible for pro players who only have ranked games on their account to have a smurf they play nornals with for practicing, thus you wouldn't see normal matches on their pro account. Considering 99% of us are not pro players, and considering the comparisons I just made, its not so wrong at all to let people practice in normals.

I understand that for some people, they play normals for a competitive game mode, but if I main a couple of champs in ranked then I use normals as a way to learn new champs and practice them. That being said, if someone gets mad that I am not carrying with a champ I have never played before I will hit them with the old "Relax man, its normals".

i was with you until the end of this sentence, winning is fun. i dont care if people are experimenting with fun or impractical builds, but please still try to win or i will report you at the end for griefing.

My logic is not skewed at all. Just because you want to be try-hard doesn't mean I should have to be try-hard as well.

There's no reason I should adjust my playing to your specification just because you don't like it, I'm playing so I can have fun, not for you.

No one's saying that you can't try-hard, but don't get butt hurt and say some bullshit to me just because I'm not try-harding as well. That's a good way to get someone to drop this line on you. "it's just a normal, chill out."

And true facts, it is "just a normal." it has no effect on your personal ranking or skill level, so you shouldn't be so stressed about it that you feel the need to correct someone that's playing to have fun and not playing at their best.

If you have so little regard for the enjoyment of the players around you, don't play a cooperative multilayer game. go play halo or mario.

yes normals are for fun, but when someone continuously suicides and say "Its just a normal", its trolling. u can ahve all the fun in mind, but just because u like building ap trynd or ap zed and the team is ok with it, that doesnt mean losing is what they have in mind. at that rate everyone would just suicide and say "bruh" when u ask them to play a bit more seriously but just have fun at the same time.

The difference is they're telling someone to change how they should play, the people trying to have fun are not.

Ever had a backseat gamer? That friend that sits behind you watching you play, and tell you what you should do when they're not actually playing, the one you eventually tell to "shut the fuck up man and let me play by myself".

It's the same concept. The try-hards become annoying trying to dictate how the other people in the game should play or complaining about someone, thus calling upon the wrath of the "chill out it's a normal". That's not me telling you to play differently, that's me telling you to shut the fuck up so I can play by myself, but in a much nicer way. I've played over 3,000 normals and I have never seen someone deny verbally in chat that they don't want to do an objective because "it's just a normal", they'll just ignore the person. However, if someone is being an asshole to everyone just because they're not being listened to, you're gonna be told to chill out.

News Flash: No ones going to tell you to "chill out, it's just a normal" if you're not being someone that needs to be told to "chill out" in the first place.
