toxicity were criticism and misplays.

Players are gonna make mistakes, there is almost always going to be someone better or worse than you, I don't mind someone being better but god do I hate it when I'm on the most frequent for me worse side of the scale. And yeah, if criticism is meant to keep bad players like me out of pvp games, well its working! :-)

So should we make criticism tabu? Would that help stop the oh so many crappy exchanges that seem to go on in chat?

Should it be a reportable offense? To help curb its undesired and usually unasked for advice?

Well, most of the time I've found that staying quiet about someone's misplays works, because to be honest.. suppose you did criticize someone's plays in the middle of the game, chances are they've been playing that way for a while, so I doubt they'd be able to instantly correct it. Especially with the pressure of doing badly, they might just go on even more of a tilt though this might not always apply.

So in my experience mid-game criticism tends to simply evoke toxic responses, in YoloQ anyways, even if it's just a helpful quip so personally I just try to stick to pinging any shotcalling I might have in mind.

You can try to be polite when you address their mistakes (Do not nitpick) but if they seem to react with hostility, just don't respond to him again. Mute him or whatever, but don't push your luck from them on.
