Marksman Meta seems more unnoticeable than the Tank Meta

I dunno, this is just imo.

I mean, it's cool we have tons of nice new/reworked items & stuff, but compared to a one-shotting Sejuani with Cinderhulk & having like almost a 4-man tank team compo in every game, this meta is nothing as good as the meta before.

Not asking for buffs or anything, but just wondering if I were the only one feeling like this.

The reason you don't feel it is because the marksman meta has been going on since season 1. Ever since then, each team has one; they're almost mandatory every game by meta standards. When you hear things like "assassin meta" or "tank meta" what that really means is "assassin and marksman meta" and "tank and marksman meta". When you said "four man tank team comp" guess what the other person was the vast majority of the time.

A marksman.

The difference now is that no other role is prevalent enough to equal marksman, so it's just "marksman meta". It's the default meta.

The marksmen meta is always immediately countered by assassins. Which is why the shift to marksmen is less noticed then other metas.

When they've got Volibear jungle, Mundo top, Gragas middle, Blitzcrank support and Vayne ADC.

maybe because this game revolves around daeling with marksmen since S2 already.

I don't really think it's a marksman meta anymore.

It honestly feels more like a general snowball meta.

Two answers to this.

  1. Tanks being OP is far more noticeable, and a four tank team is pretty viable if the fifth member can really lay out the DPS or the "tanks" all have fair damage.
  2. Even when they're strong, there are multiple ways to deal with ADC's (screw the term marksmen!), since they're squishy. Assassins, mages, bruisers and even some tanks can kill an adc solo if they can get to him.

ADC's often need the support of others to do their thing. That's what keeps them in check. That's also why Riot likes having them in the game and won't take them out of meta. They need a tanky front line to engage eat CC/damage for them, they often need a peeler to prevent assassins or backline divers from ruining them... they often need someone to help them poke down the enemy before the fight starts since they don't do damage FAST unless they're massively ahead, so they need the enemy softened up before the fight starts. ADC's are almost always needed, but you hardly EVER need more than one of them. That's... pretty well-balanced as a role. Individual adc's may be OP or not, but the role and it's place in the game is one of the few riot has balanced very well... probably accidentally.

The "Marksman Meta" as it's supposedly known was really much more prevalent right at the beginning of preseason than anywhere else. Really the only thing that makes it stand out at this point is Quinn, being a marksman that can be played basically anywhere except support.
