Script controlled players / bots in Co-op games - banning
In my last game I was intented to go a fast first win on the 3v3 map, but I had an afk teammate and a "mate" who used script controlled players / bots. This is poisioning this game mode badly, makes it unplayable and I've ran into this many times in Twisted treeline. Probably they won't get ban by reporting, but if they would, than they would simply create another account. Usually the script is so stupid it just walking toward enemy base instead of walking on our base in safe. So it feed the enemy bots hard. I don't get the idea in this because it would better for the script user too to win. It would be less frustrating the "normal" players and maybe more xp / ip for he/she.
I have and idea to ban these player's main and future accounts. Firstly there is a need for a "scripting / botting" report category, but i don't know the proper name for this because "scripting" term usually used in other meaning. Secondly every client installation should have a unique ID (clientid) if they don't have already. With these preconditions if the player logs in a client than the summoner name could be saved for the clientid on the server. If he log in with another summoner name than it could be saved for the clientid as well. If he uses another client than it could be save that clientid-summonername pair too. With these information can be built a pile of summoner names that a person uses. It's not 100% accurate because theoritically another person can use the same client but i think it's not that relevant. So in this system if many report arrives for the collected summoner names in the specified category and it is worth a ban than they could be banned at the same time. Sadly its not allaround solution, because if he/she creates a new account and install a new client than it cannot be detected that the new account owned by a banned player. It would make harder to this thought.
Sorry if it's technical like, I'm a programmer, and I don't know if its still a good idea.
