Making Honor More Rewarding For the Player

So I really like the honor system, but I feel like when you become a seasoned player it just kind of becomes irrelevant.

  • Honor banners are based on games per honor ratio so people in bots and dominion have the most honor (Because people have the most fun)

  • Honor does not have much meaning for veteran players who play normal and ranked a ton because of the mindset of those two modes ((MUCH more stress))

  • We have so much in place to punish people who do bad thing but there is really no reward for being a high honor player

Because of these three reasons I think that for the average player who plays normal's and ranked to get better honor has become irrelevant. Here is how I propose that we make honor more appealing for every player

  1. Make Honor like a currency so that people with it can use it to get exclusive honor related in game things aka. skins, icons, ward skins

  2. Rework the scoring system to better adjust ratio of honor per game so that it balances out players with a lot of games better

I feel like if you implemented these two things into your honor system it would make people want to be honored because of the rewards it gives. This in turn would help out the toxic community and the none toxic community aka the HONORED. Now I know a lot of you guys think that it will just turn into a honor trading game but there is a simple way to counter this out.

  • Honor is worth less the more you use it ((aka honor spamming or trading))

  • You could have a honor allowance that you get to spend each period of time that once your out you cannot honor any more

  • Honor is earned per game so you have to play to earn honor to give

Riot has these in place to combat honor trading and it would work the same with this new honor system.

EDIT: Thanks to Ryster Instead of Hp points to spend it also could be tier rewards

I feel like if honor was a 'currency', there would be too much trading of it. Even if you can only honor so many times. It doesn't promote being honorable, it just promotes compromising with friends to get honor. Even if you aren't allowed to honor your friends, it still just comes down to doing it with strangers in normal games. Allowance or not, people will just spam it until they are out.

Rework the scoring system to better adjust ratio of honor per game so that it balances out players with a lot of games better

That could help, because I rarely see people with banners in normals or ranked. Only bots.

Hopefully the new tribunal will fix a lot of this, since I believe part of it will be judging people unbiasedly if they are good or bad. If they act nice, they get honor, bad they get banned/chat restricted. I understand your frustration though, the honor system had good intentions, but at this point doesn't serve much point. I do still give out the occasional honor to exceptional players, but that isn't often.

I did have a banner and then it got taken away and i've probally made 200 teamwork if not the entire 424 because it seems like a really small number since it was taken away and I can't get it back because of how many games i've played my ratio sucks not because i'm toxic but just because after the first month people forgot about honors I know I have
