Any update on those non-eSports Riot events this year? (@Akalen, @RiotPDB @Riot Events Team)

Back in January, RiotPDB mentioned that Riot would not be attending any conventions this year (PAX, Anime Expo, Comikaze Expo, Dragon*Con, etc) and would focus on a series of events, including some not related to eSports around the country.

Well, it's July, and while we're in the middle of convention season, there are those of us who are still looking forward to attending one of these Riot events. Is Riot still planning on creating these non-eSports events, or has the team simply given up on this idea?
