Hextech Crafting Champion Shards + Owning All champs already

I just purchased 10+1 hextech crafting chests in the store with RP and opened them up.. I unlocked 8 champion shards.. since i already own every champion is there anything else i can do with these so i don't feel as though i wasted my money ? and why do i even get champion shards when i already have all the champs? I literally NEVER complain about this game or any of the features i Love League of Legends and i was so excited when i heard about the crafting system but each time a champion shard appeared it made me sick to my stomach!

The disappointment i felt each time i got one, and then one after the other just kept coming with a slight break to give me a Grim reaper Karthus skin shard and a Dragon Slayer j4 :( PLZ why are champions even an option for people who already have them all, I mean.. Riot wouldn't even lose profits just giving us skins? the value of the skins i got was less than the price of the chests and even then id have to give up more than half of the skins for essence just to unlock one.?

Ps "you can just keep the shards for a new Release champ" generally people who have all the champs don't have a shortage of IP so that doesn't ease the pain of getting all those shards!
