Matchmaking & How is this even possible.

Ok so I join a teambuilder, and in my past two games ive gotten mostly diamond and platinum players while i am in Silver/Gold elo. How is that even good matchmaking, how is that even fair to players who are trying to learn? I think you can do a better job than that matchmaking honestly.
