Trolls and the Summoner's Code
Since 5.17, I've been noticing a small increase in trolls. Leavers, feeders, overall trolls. Hear people say because they're banning more toxic players day and night. I start to question. "And what of the trolls? What do they get for instigating some of it?" Nothing it seems because I haven't heard anything about it.
For example:
My last game yesterday, we had a Yasuo player whom was in gold rank and duo bot with Azir and Lucian. Expected them to be very good or very decent at least. For the next 10 minutes, our Yasuo makes what is best to be called as "Bronze" decisions.
I would come help him escape because he was low on health. Instead of running, he dives under the turret in an attempt to grab the kill. He dies, I get the kill, and the enemy's death was worth. Enemy is under his/her tower with full hp while he is on low health. He dives anyway. He goes on to do this for the rest of the game. Chases a person across the map, running way off on his own(on low health), and letting himself get caught(enemies were clearly around him from the wards). His only excuse was "I keep getting ambushed" ....
The duo bot peeps on the other hand, were just overall...... Bad.. The moment they first died, they decided to just give up and stop trying, saying "This is fun". I've seen Lucian players try and I can tell they stopped.
Our top lane and I( who are actually trying) tried to convince the other 3 to try harder. Yasuo doesn't say anything, the duo bots took it a step further and would just walk up to the enemy just to die.
Already these guys are breaking Summoner's Code number 1, 4, and 5.
Which brought me to sub-topic I wanted to discuss. Summoner's Code number 6. Show Humility in Victory, and Grace in Defeat. From my experience, only roughly 15% of my games where both sides were doing very well. The other 85% were either curbstomps, AFKs, Feeders, Trolls, or inexperienced players from either side. If banning Youtuber videogamedunkey(it was a temporary ban) say one thing, its probably Riot wanting to enforce their code. Biggest flaw I find is that almost 90% of the time, players WILL blame one of the four I mentioned and break Number 6.
Would like to hear some elaboration, similar stories, something.
