Parental age restrictions

My husband got the whole family involved in League of Legends and we all love playing a game every night. My son is very young for his age and came across some very rude, inappropriate & absurd language. I did report them however I would like to be able to select an appropriate age limit for my son to play on. I understand that this is gaming and "trolling" is part of it but excessive behavior like this needs to be controlled by one end or the other. It would just be a nice feature to be able to change. He loves playing League of Legends and its nice to see him try to play strategically.

"My son is very young for his age." Not exactly sure what this means.....?? This game is rated "T" when played in a closed environment. But when played with other people you have to assume it's M rated at the very least.

You got two options right now. Either not let him play, and let's be honest, there are better games to play to show off his strategic prowess. Or you could play custom games only, which would be a closed environment free from language and other absurdities.

if im not wrong this game is 13+ also there is this filter or sencor that makes every bad word **** just some stars :D

still ppl (ppl under 13) will find ways to play this game and get around the filter. like fck doesnt get blurred.

if your son is too young for this kind of stuff, you shouldnt play a game with him where ppl rage :/ sry

Every online game with any form of chat that isn't just a list of phrases (like they do in, say, some Nintendo games) has this. The ESRB (which can't rate online games in the same way and leaves it out of their ratings. As they say on their site, "Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB.") has it at T, though that has nothing to do with the online part of things, which is not realistically controllable. Here's the official link for the complete description of why it was rated as such:

In other words, it's unavoidable, and League is like every other online game in that regard. It's a trade-off you'll personally have to consider, because it does in fact need to be controlled on your end.

Take some responsibility as a parent. If you don't want your son to be subject to such language then don't let him play the game. What good do you think would an "age border" do where he could play with people his age? Other players obviously would act like they're very young to have fun and troll games of young players. Also if you think kids these days don't know those mean words I got bad news for you (I worked at a Kindergarten for a year).

There is a language filter.
