Yes So long as you do a tiny bit of research on axe mechanics

It would help if we knew what champions you owned/liked to get a feel for whether his kit will naturally mesh with your play style.

#Synopsis of Draven:

Draven is a hypercarry. He has the potential to deal some of the highest damage in the game and can be downright unstoppable in the right hands. Most hyper carries have a weak early game. Draven is the only exception to this rule to date. The draw back to Draven though is the amount of micromanagement one has to do in order to make him work effectively and his very apparent snowball factor. Get ahead and you are invincible, fall behind and you are essentially locked out of winning the game for your team.

You are your own worst enemy on Draven as one misclick can be the difference between a double kill for you or a double kill for the enemy team. Draven can effectively out trade any of the traditional ADCs and poke them down, then upon hitting level 2 rush in and just start unloading on them. But sometimes he gets screwed over by the location of his axe drops. If an axe drops too far back then you often miss out on a kill. Too far ahead and you are highly likely to get caught out and killed. Draven is meant for people who are good risk takers as his passive rewards successful risky plays and punishes unsuccessful risky plays/passive play.

If you do pick up Draven you will NEED to learn to juggle your axes. Draven can potentially juggle up to 3 axes at a time (omitting URF mode) so his damage output is astronomical. Akin to juggle start out by juggling one axe. Most people can do this easily and I am sure you will have no problem with it too. Now stay at one axe and try to manipulate where the axes land by throwing the axe and changing direction while it is traveling towards the target. Get a feel for how far the spread of the axe drop location is. Once you do that try incorporating W into the mix. Q, throw axe, w to catch it, W again upon catching the axe, throw again, catch, W. Moving on up to double axes takes some effort. Sometimes the axes will split you apart if you're not careful (or just unlucky). Standing still is the usual factor for this happening. Try to passively catch the double axes. Once you can do that effectively incorporate W into the mix. To make things interesting use W and catch axes and try to bumrush the enemy bot lane by bouncing the axes off the enemy champions (or minions if not in range of champions) and try a hard engage. Pull this off and you are ready for PvP but by no means are you an expert. If you can juggle 3 of his axes at once you can consider yourself a Draven master.

#Tips for Draven:

Try moving side to side. Axes on your left and right are the optimal places for the axes to land as you can strafe left and right or diagonally when you want to advance/retreat. Strafing left and right allows you to stay behind your minion wall while staying within auto attack range.

Don't be afraid to drop an axe. You do get rewarded for catching those axes but in the long run it is much better for you to live than get some extra glory you will ultimately lose upon death. So if an axe strays too far away from the safety of your minion wall, let it drop. You have another one.

Draven's Stand Aside! can interrupt channeled abilities and dashes. Great for interrupting Leona's Zenith blade as well as Braum's leap or Tristana's leaps. It can be used for securing kills and (in a pinch) initiating an engage or splitting up an enemy duo.

Try to save your Stand Aside! for when you get engaged upon. It is your only form of self peel and will help you escape when you are able to get free and kite the enemy front line to safety.

Don't be afraid to use your Whirling Death just because there are no kills to be had. Use Whirling Death from base on a full health enemy bot lane as a way of setting their health back a bit and allowing yourself to push the advantage or postpone them from making a hard engage on you when you do get back to lane.

Pressing R again while Whirling Death is active will call the axes back sooner. It will travel a bit further before curving back towards you, so if you miss the target on the first go, press R again, reposition accordingly and get them from behind on the second half of your ultimate.

Attack speed indirectly increases Draven's move speed, much like Kalista. When facing an enemy team composition with lots of peel, attack speed will give you some extra sticking power.

Draven's passive rewards you immensely. You should try to back upon getting your first kill in order to spend your gold and press your advantage early. Don't be that guy who stays in lane after killing the enemy ADC and thinks he can kill the enemy support if he waits and lets the enemy minion wave push a bit. If it takes more than 10 seconds, just back. Spend that gold, buy your B.F. Sword and never look back.

In instances where you trade your death for killing the other guy, a majority of the time it is worth it in the long run. Reason being is your passive. If you can kill the enemy ADC and then get killed yourself it was worth it since you come out ahead through your passive. Just try to die AFTER the other guy dies so you get the full effect of your passive. In low kill games this reward can be the difference between a B.F. Sword and a Vampiric Scepter.

#Ideal lane partners Some of Draven's best supports: Thresh Blitzcrank Leona Braum Janna Morgana Draven is a Kill/poke style ADC. A majority of these supports perform both or at least one of these play styles. Anyone who can lock down an enemy long enough for Draven to secure the kill is ideal for him. Bonus points for peeling.

#Hardest laning enemies Some of the hardest people for Draven to face off against: Blitzcrank Caitlyn Morgana TahmKench Alistar Kalista Anything with a hard CC skillshot that can take advantage of Draven's axe drops will potentially ruin him. And any ranged or highly mobile ADCs give Draven a difficult time. And hard peel and Tahm Kench eating people also pisses off Draven.
